I went to stay at Green Hostels in September, I was there on and off for 5 weeks. I hadn't intended on staying so long but the mix of Mary's fantastic cooking, the huge outdoor pool 5 minutes away, the peaceful area just 10 minutes from restaurants and bars, and the family I found myself returning back every time I went off on an excursion.
I've now been traveling for 7 months and what you get at this place is very different from your regular offering. You get genuine people, giving you genuine advice about safari's, treking, local sights, good markets etc..
They are a very special family who will bend over backwards to make your stay a special one. They will make you part of the family and give you an unforgettable experience in Tanzania.

We stayed here since it was only a 5-10 minute walk from the start and finish of the Kilimanjaro marathon.

It was of course full but a friend of ours needed a room so the 3 of us just squeezed ourselves in a 2-person bedroom and was fine. The beds, though twin-sized, are relatively wide and we were able to fit 2 people in one bed and the 3rd person on the other bed comfortably.

It is a 10 minute walk to the center of Moshi town and it's close to the Keys hotel and Shanty Town (very very safe area. We nicknamed the Shanty Town as the Beverly Hills of Moshi.)

Overall a good stay.

About 10 mins from YMCA, about 15 mins from Moshi central bus station. Very friendly welcome by staff and I had a nice conversation with the owner.

The room was clean with a private bathroom. Please note that (at least for my room) there were only mosquito nets above the room door where you would normally expect a glass window, probably for ventilation purposes, so it might be a bit noisy, but I didn't mind. Too bad I could only stay one night. Would gladly stay here again on a future visit to Moshi.

se.t in a leafy area, 10 minutes walk from YMCA pool and 2 minutes from Mr Price supermarket this place is a bit out of town but quiet and green. Rooms comfortable, with fan andvery clean. Never worried about theft. You can eat great local food here- breakfast is basic bread and jam and fresh fruit but ok. They have satellite TV. I styed for two weeks and felt like one of the family!. I paid £10 anight- you can bargain from starting price which is a bit higher. If you want to wash your own clothes they will give you a bu,cket but can get them washed for you for a small sum.The owner and cok speak good English Chris
