This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. We came upon this delightful place by sheer accident, when my husband and I took a walk about in the area. The ambience is relaxed and chilled with simple seating and sand on the floor - reminds me of my Cafe Del Mar days! There were even buckets, spades and other toys for children to play with - so family friendly too.
Staff were warm and friendly, and the menu was simple - and we like this ethos. Our waitress recommended the seafood platter. However, she was informative and suggested alternatives if we would prefer. Initially we intended only to stop by for a few drinks, but as people ventured in and out, and observing the platters being ordered and clear plates taken away, we decided to try them. Well.... the seafood was cooked perfectly, with plenty to choose from. The little touches such as homemade tartar sauce, and flannels to wash your hands was SUPERB!
I always go my the motto that you can tell a lot about an owners attitude/approach to their business when you venture into the toilets.... These were simple, immaculate and CLEAN!
Once our son woke up from his nap, he happily played in the sand with other children, and because the restaurant is enclosed, it was perfectly safe for him to walk around and have a nose himself.
We will definately be back the next time we return to SA. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so enjoyable.
