“A Nice Surprise on a Rainy Day”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

This was a great surprise for us on a day that started out rainy and ended up beautiful. Especially sending postcards from the Post Office Tree!!
We (my friend and I - late 20's on vacation) didn't think we'd get much out of a replica of a ship and a shell museum, but the layout of the whole facility made everything better than we imagined. Granted, it's not the most amazing site in the world, but for the price, it was a great way to spend a couple of hours!

“A JOURNEY INTO HISTORY”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

The Portugese caravelle was amazing and the post office tree etc. But actually I found it rather boring. The whole place needs a makeover by a real enthusiast. The Portugese explorers did incredible things - tell us about it.

“Lovely museum”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Good upkeep of the museum and the kids had an awesome time. They loved going on the ship and didn't want to leave. The kids also enjoying watching the feeding of the fish. We had a granny who needed wheelchair access which was found in most places in the museum. Keep up the good work

“Treat for ship lovers”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Walking on Dias' ship makes one really appreciate his extraordinary achievements. Easy secure parking and a good bay view restaurant half a block away.

“Interesting”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

My husband and I spent a couple of hours at the Diaz Museum, including viewing the Post Box Tree and Maritime Museum. All extremely interesting, especially if you love history. For an additional fee, you can even enter a replica of the Portuguese Caravel ship that Diaz sailed to Mossel Bay on, in 1488. Mossel Bay is steeped in history, so if you have some time and energy (which we sadly didn't), a foot tour of the historical areas would be a great idea.
