We stayed for 2 nights at lodge 19 which is a two bedroom lodge overlooking the golf course and the sea .if you want to Bri(BBQ) then make sure that you bring at least 2 bags of charcoal as the Bri is not very efficient . The lodges are ok looking a bit tired and there is a strange system of transport as you have to park your car and then they take you to your lodge and then to anywhere you want to go

We played the golf course the next day which was the real reason that we stayed there and it is one of the most stunning courses I have ever played

The lodges at Pinnacle Point are excellent, we had a 4 bed lodge that included great entertainment space and the obligatory deck and brai. The only disappointment was the disorganized reception desk, having to phone for transportation (no cars allowed in resort) to get anywhere proves hit and miss, the very friendly drivers were consistently let down by miscommunication from the reception. I would hate to experience this in the high season, I imagine it would be chaotic.
The restaurants were, at best poor, the casino buffet earning the unlikely accolade from our team as 'the brown' restaurant, due to the fact that every food was a tone of brown, with MSG in abundance. I would suggest visiting Checkers the local supermarket and stocking up for home cooked comforts. the entire resort was very quiet, but even in high season whilst it would be busy, I still will lack charm and sophistication, keep in the confines of your wonderfully appointed lodge and you won't be disappointed.
The golf course whilst spectacular and a true feat of engineering, was disappointing, for the serious golfer this course is not for you, go to marvel over the spectacular views and cliff edge shots, but expect to have no clue where to hit your ball and never have a flat lie.
Service in the club house is OK, the food though is very average for South Africa.

On arrival my unit was missing cutlery and glassware and some patio furniture.. The cleaners use your bath towels to wash the toilet and bathroom - very superficial cleaning. No facilities for children unless they visit the casino complex which is the property next door.

Did not stay at the hotel itself this time but in a house on the course. The hotel is cheap and sometimes full with wedding or conferences. But they have self catering lodges which are ok and than there are golf villa's or private homes you can rent which are stunning! The course is unbelievable! Spectacular holes, great clubhouse, wonderful staff everywhere. You simply cannot find anything wrong (except that you might loose many balls!).

So the hotel reference as 5 star is more for the golf course and their staff than the hotel. If you stay at one of the lodges bring ear plugs against the birds on the tin roofs!!
