I think I should have checked these two things before booking but there is no wifi in the rooms and VERY weak wifi in the public area too. Also the toilets are unusual; no flush and an ancient system. Apart from these issues, the staff was lovely and the space beautiful. Semi permanent accomodation but great views and great breakfast.

Only stayed 1 night before heading out on the Congo Nile Trail. Stayed in the bungalow which was very cute & comfortable with an awesome view of Lake Kivu. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was also delicious. The only downside was wifi was really only available standing by the entrance and the location was far from the nearest town if you don't have a vehicle.

A warm welcome awaits. What a lovely friendly place to stay. The tents are amazingly comfortable with mosquito nets and electric socket. The restaurant had a varied menu and the breakfast was delicious. Beautiful gardens and an amazing view over lake Kivu. Great value for money and well worth a visit.☺

really excellent place to stay. the semi permanent huts/standing tents are really cool and the views over the lake are fantastic. the staff is really good and multilingual. the food was good and good value (esp. the breakfast ... the fruit platter with my omelet was massive).

the showers and toilets were fine. plenty of hot water! i'd recommend they offered water bottle refills from big barrels to be a real eco lodge (currently only selling plastic bottles).

there is a cheap beach bar just across the road called sawa sawa
... perfect for a swim and chill out.

now that the shoreline road has been closed due to the military site, it makes the area calmer but a bit longer to get to. remember that life starts early in rwanda and the lack of wall to your tent means you can hear everything so go to bed early to have a full night sleep. the WiFi was not working when we were there but reminded me i could survive 48h without internet.

overall, a great spot, not expensive (30,000 a night + about 10,000 per person for breakfast and dinner with beers), would recommend!!

When you find a gem like this stick with it!! With our 3 teenagers this was the perfect location. We could walk to the market and the children could safely stay back home if they wanted. Why doesnt my garden look this spectacular? The staff, Immanuel. Yves, Seraphine, Rosa and John were excellent and we eat there every night for over a week and we were all delighted with the menu. Healthy and creative food from local ingredients. Do make sure to give the kitchen an hour to prepare the food as it is cooked especially for you and takes time. Ask them for local idea as they really helped us feel totally at home! Thanks so much!!

Room tip: We liked to be a few tents up for best views of fishermen leaving and returning on the Lake. Bird watchers paradise
