“Spent a few hours there!”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

You can experiment a rare thing in Kenya: walking with wildlife. You go there by boat and then a guide walks with you around a vast area where you can be up close with giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, all sorts of birds, including pelicans and the beautiful African Fish Eagle, among others.... I highly recommend!!! The only problem I see is that there is a lot of domestic cattle there (goats and sheep)...Would this be recommendable?

“Walk among safari animals”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

This is definitely not to be missed. Where else can you walk among safari animals with no fear of predators and no chance of getting lost? Crescent Island is where they filmed the safari scenes for Out of Africa, so they stalked the island with safari animals. We were able to get 10 feet away from giraffes and as close to the rest of the animals as they would let us. We saw gazelles, impala, bush buck, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, pelicans, guinea fowl, and other birds. It's peaceful, quiet, and lovely to see the animals without being in a car or hearing the engine of the car. I will warn you that the only facilities on the island are two outhouses near the gate. One had TP, the other didn't, so bring your own. The outhouses are nicer than most convenient stores though in that they do have seats and aren't just holes in the ground.

Do the walking safari and what an experience walking 10 feet away from giraffes. Saw a python and eagles catching its prey, a very unique experience not to be missed.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Walking around, we found a family of Giraffes coming to see us. We saw a fox chasing a rabbit, which hid in a hole. It was well priced and a truly memorable experience. I would recommend it to everyone. I wish I'd spent more time here.

I loved being in this Island that is home to a select number of wild animal. To the animals its paradise because there are no big cats to feed on them. Lots of birds, wildebeasts, zebras, giraffes, gazelles...
