Stayed here a couple of times en-route to Mole NP and it is a great way to unwind.
Not an urban hotel so you need to accept limited choices but the staff will do all they can to help make your stay comfortable.
Main activities focus on the lake which is either crater or volanic. Water is croc, hippo and bilharzia free so sfe to swim despite the warm mud between you toes as you go in, please try not to disturb the fishing fixtures.
Canoe/pirogue trips to nearby villages are nice especially at sunset, the motorised one is fine too but not a real wow for the money.
A peaceful and tranquil place to chill or break a journey.
Jon

I was staying in Mampong-Ashanti for a month for work in a district hospital and this was a welcome weekend change. I might even go back during the rest of my time here before I leave. This was the first place that took pride and acknowledged customer service exists and they strive to do better. Although my friend and I were only 2 of the perhaps 6 guests there, it was still good. Food was good and hot, as well as breakfast. The room was clean and probably the most comfortable beds that I have felt since in Ghana (but still not comparable to US). The tv had only 2 stations unfortunately. We went canoing, played ping pong and wished we had gone for a horseback ride, but didn't get the chance. Be sure to bring some good reading...and a camera. This place was beautiful and a nice change of pace from the dirty larger cities and rural Ghana. Sometimes even people coming to do goodwill need respite. I would recommend it to any backpackers needing a change, families or tourists. They do aim to please. I would (and may) definitely go back. Tranquil, peaceful.

My wife, son and myself spent four days of Easter weekend at Lake Bosomtwe Paradise Resort. This resort has one of the best location in Ghana. It is directly on the lakeshore and you get beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains from the room’s balcony. The staff are very friendly and will take care of all your needs. People can use this as an excellent location for stay and explore the Ashante Area of Ghana. You can go for a swim at any time in the lake or for boating. You can explore the trails in the hills or go for a horse ride. (We did not do horse riding). The rooms are clean and the service was excellent. The food was heavenly. I particularly liked the local food on the menu. Sometimes there will be a little delay in serving the food. But you are here to enjoy the leisurely stay, so it does not really matter. Whenever we needed food fast, we used order a little in advance. I look forward to return some time soon.

We had a wonderful four days at Lake Bosomtwe Paradise Resort. There is a lot to do, horse riding, boating, walking among the locals in the fields and villages, swimming in the lake, trecking in the hills or just relaxing with the excellent service on the well kept lawns by the beautiful lake, Idylic. The staff and management could not have been more friendly or helpful.

Had a wonderful stay with my family to Lake Bosomtwe Paradise Resort. We had the place to ourselves and lived like kings for our entire stay. Shame this wonderful Paradise is so under used.

Lake Bosomtwe Paradise Resort is located nicely on the shores of the interesting shores of the lake Bosomtwe about 4 hours drive north from Accra. We used a chauffeur driven Nissan Patrol to get there at a cost of 200 cedis, which we found very reasonable.
At the resort, we would like to recommend other travelers to book rooms in the A block, closest to the reception, as these rooms are the ones best maintained. The dinner service was slow the first night, but the Spanish wine was cheap (30 cedis) and the quality was more than reasonable. For the following morning, we preordered the breakfast to be served at a fixed time. This is very recommendable and it was served on time.
Food, beverages and service is generally good, but we missed the opportunity to order prawns etc, as the hotel was out of stocks for three consecutive days.
Our waiter, his name is Bismarck, took very good care of us the following day and we had a trip in the hotel canoe to the nearby village, where he served as a guide.
The second day we visited the town Kumasi, the second largest town in Ghana. The market there is well known for the variety of goods and we bought lots of nice fabrics at reasonable prices. A trip there is recommended. A visit to the National Culture Centre is also recommended. There is also a military museum for those interested.
The last day, we were picked up by a taxi to go to Cape Coast in the morning.
Our stay at Lake Bosomtwe Paradise Resort was nice and we highly recommend the hotel to other travelers.

At the lake Bsumtwi
Very nice rooms and a the appartments are looking like villa's.

Very good food however the second day at breakfast the milk in my coffee was sour. They brought other milk.....which tasted the same.

When I visited the hotel there were not many guests.
