We ended up staying a week because of the lovely atmosphere and amazing service. The hotel has soo much character and charm.
The ajoining tour operator set us up on a great safari in moremi with a fantastic guide.

Visited this hotel at the start of our safari. This is Africa and this hotel is not a sanitised chain hotel, it's full of character. The food is excellent, the service is friendly but slow. We were a party of 15 and had an amazing meal served at a table placed along side the swimming pool, sitting under the African stars..perfect. Comfortable rooms and beds. Amazing bird watching from the bar. Going again next year.

Give Sedia Riverside Hotel the highest rating possible. This family owned and run hotel is beside a river teaming with birds. Sedia Riverside Hotel has large wooded ground and it is packed with many bird species. The pool and the layout area was great. The staff is friendly and the both breakfast and supper were good. The Hotel also runs Afro Trek trips. We took an afternoon river trip every day. We stayed there 2 days and 2 weeks later another night stay.

Room Tip: all rooms are good

We used the Sedia Riverside Hotel as a base for our activities in Maun and the Okavango Delta. There was not much difference in the price so we booked a chalet. While the chalet was large and slept us all comfortably, there was only one bathroom with bad water pressure. Our dinner at the restaurant was horrible, both in terms of the food and the service. We should have known when the waitress began by telling us there were only 3 steaks available. We ordered them, and they were clearly bottom of the barrel. I had to leave the table several times due to the gristle. Service was very slow. The chalet includes a small kitchen and we would have been much better off buying our own food and preparing dinner ourselves.

Room Tip: Choose a chalet. They are not much more expensive than the rooms, and accommodate a family or group...

We only spent a night on this hotel, so our experience may be skewed.

Room is very big with a huge bed and, most important, clean. Air conditioning is included in each room, altogether with an inoperative wireless internet connection.

Restaurant experience was very irregular depending on the dishes. To start with, since the hotel was mostly empty, some dishes weren't available. Waiting an hour for our dishes was a nightmare. However, the filet steak was unexpectedly good. Other dishes were overcooked or too oily.
Breakfast wasnt scarce but cooking a few omelettes took them forever and were too oily as well.

All in all, the room is great and the restaurant has a margin for improvements...

Sedie is beautiful, has great view and basic rooms. Nice spacious swimming pool but badly kept. The service is below par, had to wait for half an hour for the airport shuttle. They have potential to be the best if they can improve their service efficiency.

Room Tip: Go for chalets

The Sedia Hotel is our place where we started and finished our Africa holidays twice. We very completely happy, it's real Africa. We travelled basically and for us the Sedia with it's pool was already quite quite a luxury. I don't understand that people think it's dirty. The rooms and the restaurant are clean, but a bit basic for European and Western travelers. Food is ok, but don'r expect miracles. The pizzas are quite good, so is the meat. Breakfast is also ok, but this is sufficient. In the restaurant the waiting time can be VERY long, but if you have enough to talk... The bar is self service, so waiting is not a problem. For me the Sedia is arriving in Africa, and you need patience. It's ahotel that caters also for black people doing business in Maun, caters for local weddings. In short I think the Sedia is worth a visit if you don' expect western standards.
If anybody thinks the Sedia is too basic there lots of luxury accomodations in and around Maun.

Room Tip: The luxury chalets have space for four people. You can park the car at the cottage.
