We were put into this hotel by Air Botswana when they cancelled our flight out from Johannesbourg meaning we missed our connecting flight to the Delta, this seems to be a regular occurance with that airline. Compared to the safari lodge we were expecting to have gone to this one was extremely basic, very like a bad travel lodge back home, although as we weren't paying and Air Botswana probably got a very cheap rate I do concede that maybe we were put into one of their poorer rooms. There were large spiders on the wall in the reception area I know we were in the tropics but even so surely they could have been got rid of. In addition there was a swarm of ants in the corner of our room which were only removed when I asked for room service to spray some powder on them. Food in the restaurant was adequate. Not a hotel I would recommend as I am sure that there are better properties in Maun but we didn't have a choice.

Stayed at Maun Lodge recently, excellent value for rooms clean and of good standard. Central to all areas of Maun worth the money.

Not what we had booked but due to an Air Botswana delay and late arrival at Maun we were unable to travel onwards to our booked Safari Lodge. This was a hotel that Air Botswana put us up in. The service and hotel were about comparable with Air Botswana Very Poor - Recommendation stay elsewhere. (not comparable with any other place we styed at in Botswana)

We stayed at Maun Lodge for one night before setting off on our safari. It is 'fine' but nothing amazing and overpriced for what it is. The location was further 'out of town' than we had anticipated and as it was our first stop in Botswana were uncertain about our safety wandering too far from the premises. Next time I'd stay closer in to the 'main street' (there really isn't much to this township from a visitor's perspective!) so that I could at least have some choices for alternative places to eat etc. Service was ok but nothing exceptional. The telephone didn't work in our room and despite the glossy pictures I would rate it more as 'motel' style accommodation. The extraction fan was incredibly noisy in the bathroom and couldn't be separated from the light switch. Our room had poor orientation and was consequently very dark and not a nice place to spend time in.

The Maun river lodge is a good stay in Maun. We stayed in one of the river rooms. The rooms are good but not very stylish. They have a fridge and airco, and a lovely view on the river. There is also wifi in the restaurant, which serves good food. A must in this area is a flight over the Okavango Delta. The reception will be able to arrange this for you.

We arrived here at 9pm and hadn't booked so it was good to get 2 rooms, the restaurant was closed but they still made us some sandwiches and chips, the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Having stayed on two separate occasions in november 2011 for a week each time, we found Maun Lodge to be a great home in Maun. The first time we turned up with no reservation, and all they had available was a Family Chalet. These rooms a large, have 3 single beds, decent shower, air con and plenty of shelf space. The TV is small, there is tea and coffee making facilities, and cheap efficient laundry service.

Housekeeping service is very good, but the first time they kept putting blankets and duvets on our beds - it was 40 degrees celcius during the day. We would remove the blankets, and store them, and they were back on again. But paying less then US$100 per night, the service was excellent, the room comfortable, and the grounds very nice.

Breakfast is expensive at US$12 per person but has a great choice. The bar is good, and great value for money. Staff in The Boma (the restaurant) were friendly and efficient.

Would go back again.

Room Tip: The River Rooms are small, and not good value for money. The Double Chalets are small.
