We have traveled to Ghardaia in order to learn about the Algerian culture. The Maison d'Hote de Beni-Isguen was perfect for our research. Among the large date palms between fragrant mint and the splashing of the water supply in that traditional Swimingpool, the garden spent calmness and refreshment for our morning yoga exercises. In the evenings we nursed our thirst by the fireplace with the "Beer of the Desert" (tea of fresh mint), which was prepared personally by the host. In the silence of the oasis by night under that twinkling starry sky it sleeps wonderfully. But when we have been there we slept on simple
mattresses on the ground, which is perfekt for people who are used to sleep on futons for example, but might be difficult for somebody who is used to sleep on a much softer ground. Even though I shared one room with my two fellow traveler I never slept deeper before. The food was delicious and the service so extraordinary that our wish of a camel ride in the desert was granted. We even were taught to ride the "Dune Board" and learned that you can use a snowboard also for sandboarding!
A fantastic journey for people who want to make new experiences and get in touch with the pearls of cultural practices.More
