“Best snorkeling in Sth pacific”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Huge corals, protected waters and amazing fish. This protected oasis allows access outside the reef for those who dare but why would you when it is so very rich inside...like being in a massive aquarium, It's clear deep ( 12 mtres approx) water

“An experience I will never forget”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

After accidentally waking a local asleep in a cave, he insisted he show us where Blue Hole # 2 was, which was very lucky as being relatively new to Reef Snorkeling, we would never have found it on our own! No signs at all makes me think many visitors actually miss this natural wonder. The leap of faith off the edge of a black coral shelf barely exposed to the air was an experience in itself but what is below the surface is a true gem of this earth and an experience I will never forget. I did not want to go home, even after our gear floated away with the rising tide!!.. note to other travellers, take the time to store your gear securely on solid ground. Don't worry, the locals would protect them rather than steal them..... another refreshing change!

“Beautiful snorkeling”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Our family stayed at Rocky Ridge Bungalows for 5 nights as part of a 9 night stay on Tanna Is. Unfortunately we had quite miserable weather so we not able to take full advantage of the blue hole. Having said that when we ventured in it was beautiful. The water was quite clear and there was a good variety of fish and coral. We also spent quite alot of time exploring from above. The life in the rock pools at low tide was also very interesting with starfish, brittle stars and sea snakes. This blue hole was better than the one back towards White Grass Resort. Take good shoes and watch where you are walking!!

“Nice snorkelling”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Very good visability, a nice variety of fish. Make sure you wear reef shoes or some other protective footwear as you have to walk over rocks and dead coral.

“worth a look if your resort is nearby”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

the north coast here has some great reef snorkelling along the drop-off edge into the ocean proper but this is exposed to the open ocean and the swell (and can be a bit scary). The blue hole offers a more secure and kid friendly option within the reef. Access is also free. The coral is not that good and there is only a few smallish fish that are quite scared of humans but it never-the-less makes a worthwhile safe place to snorkel with your kids and still see some colourful reef fish. Bring some bread and throw it in to tempt the fish closer).
