“Still beautiful”

First visited in 1991. Magical spot. This was when cruise ships had just started going there. It was still unspoilt.
Went again in September. Still beautiful but starting to look a bit developed! Lots of huts on the beach for whenever a cruise ship stops by. A full on concrete amenities block, and even a concrete wharf. Spoils the view and ambience a bit, but I guess that's progress. Still definitely worth seeing.

This is a beautiful beach! Warm, crystal clear blue water white sand. There is a fee but if you aren't there on a cruise ship day you might have it all to yourself. In Santo the wind mostly comes from the south which means this beach has a gentle lapping surf on most days. On those rare days though when the wind is from the north the surf is pounding and a pretty rough.

Beautiful spot, loved the water and the setting, liked the cows sharing the beachside shelters.the contrasting colours of the sand the water and the sky with the dark green of the surrounding vegetation

Grab a bottle of bubbly (or a couple of Tuskers) from the beach bar, sit in the water and pinch yourself. There is no better place to relax as far as my wife, kids and I are concerned. We absolutely loved Champagne Bay (Beach) and would go back in a heartbeat. The only problem I have with Champagne Bay is trying to explain the sand!!! On a blue sky day... Incredible.
