It was nice to see the old trains, but they are not well-taken care of and because it was raining non-stop, I didn't really enjoy the site. Maybe on a sunny day it will look better and more interesting. At least, you could certainly take nice pictures there.

It is cool to take pictures of the old rusting abandoned trains, but really there is nothing else to do. You can climb around a bit with friends but it isnt worth spending more than 10 minutes here. Just outside of the city of Uyuni.

I like to imagine how life was when those trains were in service. Old Iron, funny grafitti, interesting patterns of the boilers and the sorrounding landscape.

If you read the history of railroads in Bolivia, you will find this a very interesting place. Unfortunately it is not well kept. There is garbage strewn all over the place and the day we visited also had questionable youths roaming the area. We did not feel very safe but took some amazing pictures.

To me, I'm not that impressed with this place. you'll see lots of rusty train parts with no one cares to protect or maintain the site. but it's on the way to the Salar de Uyuni.
