We arrived in Uyuni and upon a recommendation we checked into Tambo Aymara. The rooms were clean, the staff were acceptable, not forthcoming with information but adequate. Breakfast was average considering what $50 USD can buy in Bolivia and especially Uyuni. We checked out the next day in preparation of our three day excursion and booked a night for our return. I had read reviews that that past tourists had gone through the same motions as what we did so I was forewarned that on return our room would be given away to someone who presented off the street before our three day trip returned. Our room was given away. The receptionist tried to tell us that we didn't have a booking. He was showing me a piece of note paper that didn't have my name on it. When I told him that I was there when he wrote it in his official folder for reservations, his story changed to there being a problem with a double booking. He told us he would take us to his friends hotel around the corner (which is also what I have read other travellers who have stayed here) to have them try and put us into a dorm style room that was considerably cheaper than our rate at Tambo but they still wanted to charge us the higher rate!
