“a charming jasmine scented vineyard retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2011

We recently spent two weeks in Cafayate and were so happy with our choice to stay at Las Vinas. Our accommodations were spacious, clean and thoughtfully scented with rose to greet us upon our return. Jasmine, entwined around every pillar, was in bloom throughout our stay and imbued the beautiful property with fragrance. The gourmet restaurant used produce from their organic garden and service was impeccable. Staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed meeting other guests from around the world. We will certainly return!

After an amazingly beautiful drive from Salta City, we finally found this hotel. Nevermind that it's off a dirt/gravel road about a mile or so from Cafayate. (Street signs are sparce.) Our room was lovely and quite large. The view from the room was the vineyard and mountains. Dinner at the hotel was ok but not wonderful. We were tired so it didn't matter that much. Walking our room was the fragrance of jasmine in bloom. Heavenly.

Room Tip: Our BA travel agent booked this for us.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights on our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it. Came from BA and the busyness of the city and really loved taking a step back and relaxing. The setting of this place is unreal. Mountains all around and vineyards surround the resort where the rooms are. Rooms open onto a large veranda and each has a couple chairs overlooking the vineyards. Also a very nice pool out back, and was warm enough while we there in September to lay out by and enjoy some wine, although the water was freezing.

We choose this hotel in part because of the reviews about the restaurant and we were really impressed. The food was sophisticated. Not a huge menu but a lot of different options, much more of a range than just traditional Argentine food (had a black linguine with shrimp, for example) and that was a nice plus.

Really friendly staff at the Front Desk who set us up with an awesome private wine tasting in english at Carnivae, and after that had a private lunch at the winery's vineyards. The wine of this winery was terrific. That experience and the meal to follow was overall one of the best parts of our 2 week honeymoon.

The room itself was simple but spacious and overall at a resort like this (1 or 2 km outside Cafayate) I think you're best served by either relaxing in the outdoor common spaces of the resort overlooking some gorgeous natural scenery or scheduling some great wine tasting in the region, and having your room be where you nap and sleep in, rather than where you spend your vacation. This resort was perfect for that.

We really weren't sure if we going to go to Cafayate and were really, really glad we did. Cute little town and this is a great resort to be based at for exploring the region.

This is a nice hotel with comfortable rooms and surroundings, just a little dull. The rooms are simple but without charm or imagination. Fabulous views out over the vineyard. If you want a bath and aren't Kate Moss, look elsewhere as they are tiny. For the price there is more interesting places to be found in this area.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was amazing. Even though I was born and raised in Salta, and I've been to Cafayate many times, this hotel was a great surprise. The location is fantastic, in the middle of the vineyards but still close to Cafayate (3km) so we could go back and forth easily (you need a car though). Breakfast was very good, and rooms very comfortable, with a balcony facing the swimming pool and the amazing landscape. The staff was very nice and helpful. Phone system from the rooms was down, so they let guests make free long distance calls from the front desk while they fixed it. In sum, it was a great stay and I would recommend it.

We spent 1 night in Cafayate. The hotel is really nice and was one of the best where we stayed during our "on the road" vacation in Argentina. we had a very nice room, with balcony overlooking the "vinas" (being August they were not at their best, but still a very nice and pleasant view). All the rooms have balconies with great views and it was a real pleasure to spend a bit of time outside (even if quite cold)!
I'd certainly like to go back!

Room Tip: all rooms are really nice, no need to worry...

we stayed one night.
Hotel was very comfortable, super nice beds and a beautiful shared living room to enjoy the selection of salta wines.
The restaurant is also excellent, with a perfect price-quality ratio.
I will be coming back!.

I would like to thank the owners, Pablo and Marcelo. they make your stay even better with their service.
