Good quality and tasty food, but not fancy. Quiet street a block off the main plaza. Worth seeking out. Had a terrific local torrontes.

“Great food with insight into local regional specialities ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2013 via mobile

This was a lovely place to eat just off the main square - maybe anything would be good after the 12h drive we did from Salta but our hostess was very understanding and helpful, gave helpful suggestions and the meals came out quickly, we're both simple and hearty but unique and demonstrated some interesting foods from the region including a certain pride in Quechua culture. Classy and we'll polished but completely unpretentious. Highly recommended

“It's hard to believe how good EVERYTHING WE ATE HERE was”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

I recommend this place utterly, in a most sincere way. Just because i love high cuisine, wherever it's served.
Cheff Jose does his best and magic happens in the kitchen.
For those who love a delicious feast; we had empanadas(!!!) along with Celery Mayo and Escabeche Beans & Spicy sauces, all home made and so so delicious. The lamb (Cabrito) WAWAWIWA. My friends bellied down the sorrentinos as well as the Beans.
Do not fall for the first place you see and waste your time in a tourist's spiderweb. This is a slowfood restaurant run by an interesting couple, don't miss a night of satisfaction. The wine is from the region btw, and UFF! the dessert was figs and bathed fruits.

I can't really say much more than this because the experience itself is just only so fulfilling that reviews and words can't fill it like they did me. Provecho.

“Good homecooked food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

We wandered around Cafayate and found this little restaurant in a side street. There were locals eating there and although we did not speak any Spanish we were given a very warm welcome. We chose to have the Locra (soup/stew) which had lamb, vegetables and beans and was delicious. The restaurant itself had wonderful photos around the walls of the native people and the amazing scenery, the lampshades were made from cactus trunks and the whole place had a lot of character. We really enjoyed our meal and found the staff very attentive and friendly - we would highly recommend a visit there.

“Nice food, location and friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

We tried to find a restaurant that was less touristic and ended up in this great place just around the corner of the main square. It has a lovely patio where you can have dinner without smelling the cars that pass by. The food and wine were excellent, as was the service. I really think this place deserves a much higher ranking, it's a great, authentic restaurant!
