This hotel is 14 km south of Cafayate. It is surrounded by vineyards, and a most beautiful landscape. The swimming pool and spa are perfect to enjoy your time at the hotel, before and after a day of sightseeing, visiting wine makers and taking dusty roads. Breakfast buffet is prepared on the terrace, i personally preferred the outdoor tables under the parasoles, but there is the option of seating indoors as well. Dinner is included in your reservation and it is ok. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms clean and hot water plenty. Our room overlooked the vineyards, I loved the view! If I go back to this region I will absolutely go back to this hotel. Try to stay at least 2 or 3 nights! We used this hotel as a base to visit Cafayate and Yacochuya.

Room Tip: No need to ask for a specific room, I think all rooms must be as comfortable and should have as beau...

this is a very nice hotel with a good service, good staff which you can expect in this pricesetting
we had a nice room with a nice view over the wineyards
it's including dinner
the dinner (included) was good but 2 days chicken in a row is a bit to much
the breakfast is very good and the setting of the hotel is very nice too
close to cafayate which is, in our eyes a nice town.
it's not cheap but price /quality is oke

Based on past reviews, I did not have any expectations for this hotel. It was the only hotel that was available when we had a last minute change of plans.

I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, the hotel grounds were beautiful (overlooking vineyards, and had a nice view of the moutains), the room was huge and comfortable, and as this hotel is some distance from town, it was generally very quiet and peaceful. The hotel rate included a dinner at its restaurant - service was, however, poor - probably because the restaurant was hosting a very large group that night. Otherwise, the food and wine was good.

Altalaluna has the potential to offer a unique lodging experience but falls short in various departments. Service is inconsistent, amenities are not well thought out and staff needs proper training and on site management. Just one example... you order room service and dinner arrives cold because staff do not have proper carts or utensils to make sure the trip from the kitchen to the room does not end up in frozen food. Staff try hard, but the result is somewhat dissapointing. The location is excellent for a short stay during a road trip... its a shame nobody seems to care about developing this place to its full potential.

We stayed in a master suite which was disappointing. Balcony not in sun at all. Not even 2 chairs on balcony. Dark room. Noise from party at night. The grounds are very nice with good views. Its a bit isolated - we would have preferred to stay nearer civilisation. The meal was included in the price but the service was a joke - it was like fawlty towers. They did give us our wine free because of poor service. I think they were stretched because of a party but the waiters were hopeless - forgetting what had been ordered. The tables next to us were treated the same so we had a laugh about it but really it was not too funny. Breakfast fine.

This hotel is about 15 km south of Cafayate, yet worth the drive. It is quiet and roomy and so well done. The rooms have balconies that look out upon vineyards and the Andes mountains--spectacular scenery in every direction. The staff was helpful and I was so glad we choose this hotel.

This place is really is great value (ask for the price in cash, saved us US$30 per night). The hotel is located in an old mansion in the midst of wine yards has a little park a nice pool and a spa. Rooms have balconies and large beds. Dinner is included and what I liked best was the fact that they are generous with it. Three courses with a good and large Argentine steak as main. Breakfast was also of good standard.
