Description: Cliff House Inn and Restaurant overlooks the Arkansas Grand Canyon. We are a seasonal business open from March 17 through the first to second weekend in November. (It depends on the fall leaves on the trees as to when we close in November. Call for hours after the first weekend in Nov). Restaurant hours during our season are 8 am to 2:45 pm Sunday through Thursday and 8 am to 7:45 pm Friday and Saturday. We have a 5 unit motel and 3 cabins. The cabins are open year-round.

This restaurant sits outside of Jasper on the bluff of the Arkansas Grand Canyon. The views from the parking lot and back porch are truly beautiful. They have a nice gift shop in the front of the restaurant for your shopping pleasure. We arrived with a group of 10+ on a Saturday. Both parking lots were full making parking difficult. The service left a little to be desired as we joked throughout the meal how put out the waitress seemed. The food was simply acceptable, nothing to brag about nor to be unhappy. The view is what unbeatable at this stop.

the biscuits at the cliff house restaurant are amazing. huge, flakey and hot. mmmmmmm. every meal we have eaten there is great. breakfast or lunch is hard to determine which is best.

when we walk in, son Mike greets us with a big Arkansas how y'all. Dad Mike does most the cooking and has it down to a science. everything is reasonable, tasty and served with a smile from wonderful employees. see y'all on the 27th.

This is one of the best views to be had in a hundred square miles. It alone is worth the price of the meal. But it would be wonderful if there were a chef in the kitchen.
I ordered the rib-eye special and the steak, while done med rare even as thin as it was cut,was full of fat and gristle. The flavor was good though and I really wanted to love the meal. I couldn't. The corn was canned and, though the mashers were from scratch, they had an off taste I just couldn't get down.
My aunt had the fried catfish and it was well done, tasty and the portion size ample. Her sides were tasty and the food arrived at the table hot.
The server was a total delight, very attentive and friendly. There was never a need to try to catch her eye if we wanted anything, she had already anticipated it and was there to refill answer questions.
The dining area was wonderful, with sideways sliding windows around the outside wall on floor and table levels so that diners could adjust the temp and air to their own preferences. But the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. It was unpleasant sitting in them.
These owners want to serve upscale food in a beautiful setting. They are heading in the right direction with the wait staff and the view, but they really need to tighten up in the kitchen. Serve quality food, fresh ingredients, (I can open a can of corn at home) and get a chef who loves his job.
This wasn't bad food, the catfish was very good, but it was a missed opportunity to make a great meal as the steak was tough and way too thin to be a $18 special. At the regular price of almost $25.00 I would have screamed at CANNED CORN and bad mashers.
The biscuits were, however, Great!!!

Stopped on a rainy October afternoon, about 1:30 pm, and the place was almost completely full. Classic old tourist stop that has survived with great food. I had the barbecue special, and my wife had the grilled chicken. Every bite was excellent! Oh, and the view was spectacular too - clouds were at eye level and below - but the food was what we'll remember the best!
