My husband and I just happened to pass by this place and noticed the cannon, so we stopped in. We are historical re-enactors, so this place was absolutely awesome to us. We loved walking through all the buildings, and took some really fun pictures. I would love to attend a Pioneer Day here in the future.

This place is not very big but has allot of history. Give it a try. Has some very unique local history.

We attended the Pioneer Day. It was a really fun event. There was a full day of entertainment. Kids played with historic toys, churned butter, saw spinning.

If you happen to be in Jacksonville, AR you should swing by and check out this place. It is located south of Jacksonville on highway 161. There are a limited number of attractions but what they do have is worth a look see from old cabins, barns, cannons to a old bridge from the Civil War days. There is no admission fee and occasionally they will do battle re-enactments on the property.

I drove there couple of times and the field is just in processing keeping it clean and improve more new buildings for a display. Not sure what their plans are in the future. They do some shows there once in a while. Ask chamber and commerce for more information.
