We had the most awesome time here the staff were all happy and very helpful.
The accommodation was really excellent and the food was really excellent. the dining room was immaculate and after our meal the singing by the staff just finished off an amazing day spent with the Cheetahs and other wild cats.

Thank Mary D

This place is amazing. It is very clean, the animals are well fed and taken care of but at the same time they have their "space"; the care-takers/guides are really into the well-being of these beautiful animals, and they have a wonderful rehabilitation program which include a back to the wild release program. The guides really know these cats (cheetah, caracal/lynx, African wild cat, and serval) personalities and likes and dislikes while respecting their "wildness" and natural forces. They are also very knowledgeable and informative and will help with any questions. The actual tour of the site is about 2 hrs...By the way, they also take great pictures.

We visited Emdoneni as a get-away weekend. What a pleasant surprise to find ourself in the wild just 3 hours drive from Durban. We were welcomed on an extremely hot day with a refreshing ice cold fruit drink by a very pleasant young lady who seemed to give us special treatment, but later found that to be the culture of all staff. The accommodation is 5 star and the meals most enjoyable. The surrounds of the chalets is very well maintained and excitingly pleasant to view buck roaming close by. The viewing of the cheetahs and the knowledge shared by the guide was most informative. This rehabilitation centre was a great experience. It was great to be able to share this experience with many American and German visitors on the day.

We did not stay here, but did visit the cheetah / animal sanctuary. At first we were disturbed by visiting wild animals we had come to see in the wild being held in captivity. However, as someone commented to us, they perform a necessary function. By allowing visitors to interact with the wildlife, they were raising money to preserve wildlife. It was an informative visit, with a chance to get up close with some of the cats. I am sure the cheetahs we patted were drugged, as when we saw some them again a few days later from a distance, they were certainly a lot more alert then. The good news is they are using this place as a breeding centre as well, keeping the babies well away from the public so they can be released back in to the wild. Most of the animals they had on view had been injured in the wild and may not have survived otherwise. All in all a good place to visit to help to assist - but nowhere near as good as spotting these magnificent creatures in the wild. And nowhere near as satisfying.
