The guide was knowledgeable about the history of the town. The sand covered houses are great backdrops for photos. It’s sobering to thank of the effort required to build such a town in the middle of nowhere

Very interesting visit to a well-known landmark in Luderitz. Joshua was our tourguide and made the tour interesting and fun!
Thank you!

This is a fascinating ruin of a diamond mine with all the facilities and accommodation that once made it a vibrant community. The buildings are all in a state of deterioration and delapidation and many are full of sand, giving an eery and atmospheric feel to the place. There is no health and safety, so care needs to be taken, but it is easy to explore and fascinating to see what time has done to this place.

If you are a photographer, it's a place that deserves a full day of your time! For an extra fee of about R250 one can get a photographers permit that allows you to arrive early and stay late.
