Lovely visit to this old house with a lot of history, it was a quick visit - but if you're... read more
Built in the early 20th century for the head of the Namibian diamond company. Finished in 1910 it was cutting edge design. It has passed through several hand over the last 100 years but has been well restored and is well worth a visit. There are not many attractions in Luderitz but this one is definitely worth the walk up the hill
This beautifully restored old home is one of the finest in Lüderitz and a must see when visiting here. It is located just around the block from Felsenkirche, the old German Lutheran Church on Diamantberg Street. Is was built in 1910 on diamond hill and is run today as a museum and open for tours.
BOTTOM LINE: Well worth the taxi ride or walk from the cruise port. Made beautiful buildings are located within a couple of blocks from here with a Bavarian flare. Try to plan your visit during visiting hours to see the inside too. Great spot for photos here and on diamond hill behind the home. MY RATING: 9/10.
Times on website differ from the actual entry times at the board outside the house. Beautiful from outside. Website states 5-6 on Saturday. But actual visiting time was 2-4. So sad we missed this beautifully maintained old house
A beautiful historic house in a beautiful and historic little town! Worth a visit when you go to Lüderitz
I was totally enchanted with this splendid house. In its day, it was the most luxurious house in Luderitz with bathrooms and running water! Its small but verdant gardens offers the visitor a lovely view of Luderitz!
Limited opening times so good to combine with visit to church. Beautiful old furnishings. Interesting to hear a bit of the history and see how the other half lived.
