“Loads of steps”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

I stayed here with my husband as part of a group tour in September.
This could have been so good, with a bit more work. The main centre was a conservatory overlooking forest, which was a great idea, but rather lacking in ambience. Half-Board is compulsory here, and the range of food for vegetarians was limited. Food was very bland.

There are some rooms that are easily accessible, but most are cross and down the road up a huge flight of steps. There were loads of porters top carry bags though. The views from the rooms are fantastic, but the “cabins” are not finished to a particularly high standard and could do with a bit more love and attention.

There weas a swimming pool, but I did not fancy swimming in it.

Rooms below the restaurant are immersed in the jungle for a unique experience. Rooms above the jungle are about a 5 minute walk away and require a lot of stairs, so watch out if you are traveling with someone with bad knees.

Rooms are basic and all have 2 beds in them. You'll find bugs in the room (you're staying in the jungle) and it's an interesting experience at night. The food is okay.

Built along a steep incline on a valley ravine, the number of staircases mean that it's not suitable for people with leg problems or with heavy bags.
Rooms are very basic; be sure not to open any windows or the bugs will creep in immediately.
Surprisingly the dinner is quite good.
Staff are friendly and will try their best to help whatever you need.
The lobby wifi not working the day I was there.

Lovely place to stay, rustic rooms were ok, mosquito net needed replacing. Its a bit of a hike from the restaurant to the rooms and the 93 steps up to the rooms were dimly lit so take a torch. But beware, my room was broken into whilst I was asleep and my bag taken..later found in the bushes, but it had been completely ransacked. so take care. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

A little shabby and the bed linen and towels have a musty smell. Be prepared for a hike up the stairs to the reception and further hilke to your rooms. Shower was powerful but yoiu need to be quick as hot water doesnt last long. The pool certyainly wont meet any safety standards and the sun loungers are invariable in the shade. The staff were very helpful and the food was very good and reasonable priced.

This hotel is more rustic than the others. I don’t know how many places to choose from and we found that this hotel is rated fourth among our travel agency and I can see why. It will give you a warm shower and clean bed but it is shabby. There was a hole in the wall at the toilet where the plumbing entered the building and had a chameleon visitor in the evening when I used the bathroom. Bring slippers to keep your feet warm because it feels cold and damp in Sept. NO heaters in the room but plenty of warm blankets. Bring warm pajamas and slippers too. Toiletries are not provided so bring your own shampoo; a travel hair dryer if needed too. Poor lighting on the paths when returning to your room after dinner, so please make sure to have a flash light. As with our hotel stays so far the mattress was stiff and the pillow hard. The staff speaks limited English so plan accordingly. We stayed here two nights and they had us change rooms for the 2nd night because they had messed up their reservations.
The trails in the park are steep and rigorous; steep inclines, lots of steps and high stepping too. If you use a cane or walking stick be sure to bring it when you are in the rain forest.

I did not add any additional pics; other people posted accurate pictures.
