We stayed here for three separate nights, each one a week apart, as we moved around the country, so actually ended up having three different rooms. They were all lovely, nicely decorated, spacious and clean with a kettle, tea cups and tea bags and a bottle of water provided in the room. The majority of places we stayed were somewhat basic, but this was a more comfortable hotel, it was a shame we were only using it as a "passing through" stopover each time we stayed. The food was good and they made a very tasty cafe au lait! Staff were friendly, especially the porter that carried our bags in, and out, and in, and out, and in, and out!! we had brought a case of donations for a local charity, and although we weren't visiting the charity until the last time we were staying there, the hotel were happy for us to leave the case with them so that we didn't have to take it on our travels! would definitely recommend.

we did find that if it is obvious that you are tourists (i have blonde hair so, not so easy to blend in) you do rather get pounced on by people/children wanting to sell you things, so just be ready for that. loads of pousse pousse (rickshaw) drivers wanting your business too, very reasonably priced and a good laugh, so give it a go!

Room Tip: all three rooms we had were lovely, we had room 1, room 3 and also the downstairs room that faced th...

Stayed here for a few nights. Very reasonable price and clean. Quaint Malagasy decor. Breakfast included and decent. You have to pay a few ariary more for a fan or heater to be put in your room but still good value. Wi.fi in the dining room. Worth staying at.. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Go to the Zandina restaurant opposite, one of our favourites in Antsirabe.

The staff are friendly, the room was clean and pleasant, it was easy to find and at only £17 per night for 3 of us including breakfast we were highly impressed.

I would recommend this as a place to stay.

We had to leave very early on our final morning and the staff made us up individual breakfasts in bags to eat in the car.

We were travelling back from Isalo NP in July and needed a place to stay in Antsirabe. I had no idea where to start, so I consulted TripAdvisor. Thank you NewYorkCityStickler for your review - having corresponded on here before, I thought I could trust your advice, so I told out party of 4 that we would be staying there on your advice, but to prepare for the worst just in case. We couldn't have found a better place! It was a great place to stay and very reasonably priced too. It is dated (but where outside Tana isn't?!). The rooms were large and comfortable and the hot shower blissful after a day's drive. The restaurant had great food and great hospitality. The restaurant was quite full with locals too, which we took to be a good sign of how good it is. The staff were very friendly, and corresponded promptly by email to ensure our reservations. They could even arrange for a key to be left after the reception shut (as we thought we would arrive late, but it turns out we arrived earlier so the office was open). We really enjoyed our stay.

I have stay at the trianon for two days on a business trip in July 2011. rather friendly staff, make you feel at home. Nice rooms - considered that you are in madagascar and not in Europe. Big rooms, nice bathroom, even if everything is not that modern anymore. Good restaurant with great food and a pleasant bar.
Only one negative point: I came back form work at 10 pm and asked for my key. I was told that the couple from room 5 have accidently taken my key. They offered m etheir key and told me to wait in their room until thay are back., which i of course refused. I asked for the spare key only to get told that the receptionist has gone home and that I have to wait tofr the couple to return before getting in my room. Only when i threatened to break in the door the barman acted and called the owner. In their defence I have to say that they were very apologetic.
Therefore i keep the 4 stars.

This is a wonderful small hotel with a friendly, accommodating staff. We stayed here on my husband's birthday, on our way to Ranomafana NP. I had written ahead to ask if they would make a cake, and one of the staff members baked a wonderful birthday cake with a delightful design on top. We were the only patrons in the restaurant that night and were treated like royalty. Le Trianon has a good restaurant which turns out perfectly cooked meats and great salads and vegetables. The room, up a flight of stairs, was spacious and immaculate. The shower was a bit dark, but clean and had hot water. Free wi-fi and breakfast at a very reasonable price. A charming alternative to the bigger hotel in town. Also, the restaurant is non-smoking. On our way back to Tana, we stopped for lunch and were welcomed by the same staff who stopped by our table to see our pictures.

Room Tip: They're all nice.
