While we did not see many animals I did love seeing the open serengeti like terrain. We did spot a Hyena with a large piece of elephant skin dangling from it's mouth.

We loved all the animals. We saw everything. They were everywhere. You don't have to go far to see the animals. The guides were so good.

Great location to view bird life and Hippos. Roads can be challenging in the wet season, but the guides are great at navigating their way around.

We had a guided drive into the Moremi reserve from Khwai Tented camp - saw lots in interesting countryside.

We flew from Johannesburg to Maun, then to an airstrip near Khwai Village and stayed at a safari camp for 3 nights. On our first morning drive we went through the village and across a pole bridge over the Khwai River, through the North Gate into the Moremi Reserve. There is a large notice board where recent wildlife encounters are noted, and the guide received an update while paying the entrance fees. A camp site is just inside the gate. As the rainy season had just begun the roads were passable but deeply rutted with many potholes, and the drivers were always challenged with the road conditions. We saw most of the large animals, groups of hippos in the river, elephants of all ages, a variety of antelopes, a few predators, and prolific bird populations. It rained hard on two of the evenings and afterwards the storks and raptors were present in large numbers eating insects including migrating termites. At one stop along the river we encountered a trio of wattled cranes with one of the males engaged in an elaborate mating dance, but mostly ignored by the nearby female crane. The park rangers were friendly and helpful, very conscious of sound conservation practices and good communicators. Wish we had been able to spend more time in the Moremi Reserve.
