I spent 3 glorious days at Khwai Tented Camp arranged by Anton of Imagine Africa . A different experience from the last safari the previous 2 days. The camp staff were most helpful they couldn't do enough for me. The food was excellent, the tents were great, bucket showers are fun. For me the most important thing was the game sightings they exceeded all my expectations. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very well informed. As I am a keen amateur photographer he seemed to be able to get us into the right spot every time and have some wonderful photos. Unfortunately there aren't enough superlatives to adequately do them justice.

This camp was outstanding. First, the game viewing was excellent (as was our guide, Bee) -- we saw 5 juvenile male lions, a leopard with her cub, wild dogs, etc. Second, the staff here was incredibly warm and welcoming. The young woman who manages the camp day to day made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed a private candlelit dinner under the night sky, serenaded by hippos. Third, the tents are comfortable and come with a great view -- one day we saw over two dozen baboons right outside our tent, and we routinely heard hippos splashing around during the night. The food is likewise delicious. This is a great camp, and I highly recommend a visit!

we stayed herelast week for 3 nights. The camp consist out of 9 tents and we stayed in tent 9. Although it has beendry and the pool or river near the tents was quit low, enough birds of all kind where present. During one of the nights hyena's were fighting probably with a leopard.

The staff does everything pissible to make your stay as comfortable possible, they even plan surprises ( I am not going to telll what the surprises contained, you have to find out for yourself ). The guides are very good and experienced and they let each other know during the safaris what they encounter, which makes it possible for all visitors to see the most beautiful wild life. We have seen most wild life, but to be able to see within 2 mtrs a leopard and a cub is really amazing!!

The khwai tented camp is a special place to stay and I recommend it very strongly!!

We, an elderly couple, visited Botswana for the first time in 1985. At that time only a few campsites for mobile camps existed, one of which was XAKANAKA in the Moremi Game Reserve. Beginning of this century, we returned for safaris to Southern Africa visiting Namibia, Botswana, Sambia and Zimbabwe.

Khwai has cute tents set on a pond which is full of Hippos and they come out of the pond and crash around outside your tent at night. The staff speak good English and the food is spectacular. Best of all are the animal encounters. We saw loads of hippos up pretty close, plus lions and masses of common stuff like giraffes, zebras and elephants etc. Recommendation is to give yourself an extra night in the area.

Room tip: The 'honey moon' suite is on its own, but it is close to the kitchen so you do get early noise as they prepare breakfast.
