We've camped alot in 7 months on a motorbike tour of Europe. And if you see my reviews you'll understand that the human aspect is as important as clean toilets and hot showers. The owners are extremely welcoming. Cerrito speaks excellent English and has terrific humour. The site has obviously been receiving major investment and is very well presented and located. The shop is well stocked and prices fair. The beach is rocky but scenic. Our pitch was our best yet on the lower terrace fabulous view and sounds of the sea. The static caravans are all modern and they offer Igloos as well. We were lent tennis gear free and given a the Acsi rate on our pitch. Thankyou to the Vincenzo family.

We stayed here in a static caravan April 2011 and loved it. Nothing much was happening on site at the time but the location was perfect for a base. We were upgraded to a slightly bigger caravan without asking and used the very local town nearby for breakfast. Cefalu is only a 10 minute drive away and found that access to the motorway nearby gave us the choice of driving relatively quickly to most parts of the island.
If I went to Sicily again I wouldn't hesitate to go back here, although it would mean I would have to hire a car again, drive through Palermo and risk life and my mental health, and that's not a pleasant thought!
Visiting the nearby hilltop village of Pollina is a must.

During our family vacation tour in Sicily we camped at 3 different locations and this was by far the best camping experience we had in the island. We had a private terrace for our 2 tents with a marvellous position under oak trees right on top of the small private rocky beach.. Our boys enjoyed swiming and exploring the beach.. Management was really nice to us and we felt at home. we will certainly be back!

We wanted to see Sicily and this campsite was close enough to some of the main sites, including Cefalu.

We stayed in a 5 person mobile home which was adequate size - average for caravans. We did have to pay for the air conditioning and I did think perhaps we were overcharged, since we tried not to use it a lot. The caravan was clean, though I was surprised that we had plastic plates.

The site-owned caravans are all next to the main road, which is not particularly busy, but still the sound of the passing cars takes away from a peaceful dinner. Also, the front doors of the mobiles all face each other, with the little area set aside for your table and loungers marked out with planters. I would have appreciated more privacy. There is a row of caravans in a nicer location and a sea view but they are all operated by Camp 2 Relax. A train line runs through the campsite, but there's no real noise from this since trains are fairly infrequent.

The site itself is clean and the view of the sea is very nice. The 'beach' is rocky and virtually non-existent, but you can see that from the website. The swimming pool is nothing particularly special. There are quite a few mosquitoes and a few wasps were quite happy to pop by when we were eating.

The on-site shop was disappointing. There was no fresh food and they said you had to order your bread the day before? (We didn't try to figure this out). Although the town of Finale is relatively close - 500 metres - the only way to get there is by walking along the main road. Even then, in Finale there was only a tiny supermarket, a deli and butchers, but we didn't find the bakery. So - we didn't get much of a chance to try to the famous Sicilian produce we'd heard about.

There are a couple restaurants in Finale - we picked up a chicken from the Gastropedia which was nice. We also ate at the on-site restaurant - only pizza which was very reasonable and quite nice.

Staff on site were friendly and spoke several languages. We had no problems.

Even though we were staying at the end of the high season, the whole campsite seemed fairly empty.

Travelling from Rais Gerbi means you need a car. The roads are quite twisty so even when something looks close on a map - it's still around 30 minutes away. Cefalu was about 35 minutes. We also visited Pollina and Castlebuono. Castlebuono is a nice tourist town for an evening. We drove to Etna in about 2 1/2 hours and Palermo is around 90 minutes away. It is quite easy to find the campsite after leaving the motorway.

I wouldn't say there was anything particularly wrong with Camping Rais Gerbi, but its just that I would like something a little more lively and closer to other things.

Lets start with the positive: the view from the camping is stunning, the private rocky beach is beautiful. When we arrived I was delighted, until... two busses with local youth arrived. The first night they partied with loud music until 1am, the second night until 2am. And afterwards the after party continued for a couple of more hours on the private beach directly next to our tent. The youth were with many, drunk, loud and not prepared to listen to our request to party somewhere else. The camping management was of little help: they apolised but did nothing after our complaints the first night. After our complaints after the second night ( not only by us) apologies came again but also resignation that there was little they could do. Charging us the full amount we left dissapointed, with lots of hours of sleep to catch up, searching for a doctor for my wife who had gotten sick in the mean time.

We picked this campground for its proximity to Cefalu and it was reasonably priced compared to the hotels around Cefalu. We booked and paid for it online through their site and check in was easy.

It was quite a drive from Cefalu and you definitely needed your own car. It was easy to find and was close to the autrostrada to head in either direction to Palermo or Messina.

We had a mobile home for 4 people. It was clean but very small. You needed the key card for the electricity and there was a cost for the air conditioning which we didn't need in May. There was a communal washing machine for a few euros but no dryer but the campground supplied clothes horses. There was also a small supermarket which sold basic necessities and fresh bread.

The reception staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

We used the campsite restaurant twice. The pizzas were reasonably priced and pretty good.

There were a lot of mosquitoes so make sure you take insect repellent.

The campground was really quiet as the season had not really started yet.

Overall it was an adequate stay and was reasonably priced, but I would not stay here again as I didn't really like the location in that you needed to drive everywhere.

I visited this camping site last July. I took twelve school children aged eleven with me. We were all happy with our rooms. The small supermarket is really convenient. The students had the time of their lives, especially in the pool. There were organised activities and the students did not get bored, they always looked forward to occupy themselves. We also liked the beach. It is a different experience. Will try to visit again.
