It's hard to find a place with such terrible service, atmosphere and food. When you spend 300$ (Almost 4.000bs!) you await to receive the best of the best. It's sad to tell that they can't even make a decent salsa Napoli. Worst Italian restaurant in the city, period.

In a city notorious for inconsistent service and supply, where waiters routinely tell customers "no hay" with an impatient roll of the eye, it is refreshing to find a gem like Aprile. Reservations are faithfully noted, tables instantly available and service is reliable. The terrace is worth reserving in advance and you might forget for a few minutes that you are in the most dangerous city in South America.

The steak-frites is the jewel in the crown of the menu. The steaks are done to perfection and the frites are worthy of a French brasserie. The wine list includes the usual South American selection as well as a smattering of Italian and Spanish wines. The Misa Bordalino was a light, fruity companion to our hearty steaks.

I'm not sure how they manage it but someone Aprile manages to find feta for its Greek salad. Feta is notoriously hard to locate in Caracas, and that alone is worth a trip.

The bar is very appealing. I plan to spend one evening there before leaving Caracas and drinking the night away.

All in all, Aprile is a top-notch restaurant. As my notoriously particular friend always comments, "It's the only place in Caracas that has never made me sick." High praise indeed!

One of the most popular and trendy restaurants in the East. The in crowd permeates the place and the food is as good as it gets, and its reputation is richly deserved. Varied daily specials, always fresh. Pastas are particularly good, but the menu is varied. One of the best dinner spots but VERY popular for lunch...especially among the "ladies". A place you will bump into all your friends, have a drink at the small but well served bar. Valet parking and location makes this a relatively safe dinner choice.

I visited once and that was about 6 months after it had opened. The bar and decor is quite impressive, set in a 1950-1960 local mansion; the place is frequented by local residents and some business people. The food was a bit disappointed, cold dishes that came late and the service was not very efficient either...

Went with colleagues. Food was great, a friend and I shared the warm eggplant/arugula salad. It was great, the mozzarella cheese was just perfectly melted and everything was really fresh. Then I had the linguini in cream sauce with truffle oil and prosciutto, it was gorgeous. This pretty much eclipsed the fact that we had reservations for a table inside and we were sent outside, only to fall victim of the rain. The water got halfway into the terrace and we had to seek refuge at the bar, but it was so packed we had to stand around the waiter stations. It was REALLY uncomfortable and awkward. Not their fault it was raining but it would have been nice if someone had cared we were getting wet. We did foot the pricey bill, after all. I think at least we deserved to get the table we'd booked, to begin with. However, the food was great and I remember the experience as a good one :)
