“Overpriced on official rate.”

At $380 a night it's way overpriced, that aside it's not a 5 star or even 4 star hotel. Staff are friendly and it has plenty of security, Which is important.
Rooms have been modernised and although small contain plenty of comforts, including plasma tv, iPod stereo and a very comfortable bed.
The practise of selling 'filtered' water instead of mineral a complete rip-off.
I found it strange not being able to pay the bill in cash without going to the bank.
The pool was ok but waiter service poor.

Stay away from this hotel, a part of the fact that it seems a hotel after the second world I was stolen in my own room, I went out of the room only for 2 hours and when I came back my Nexus Mobile phone was gone, i called security and they treated me like if I was the thief, after some investigations they found out that the thief was the Electricity guy, hopefully they could recover my phone. I have to admit that the security manager was very good. But generally speaking the hotel really sucks, The only indemnity they offered me was a discount next time I stay with them in Venezuela, that is very funny and disrespectull. Also the service at the reception wasn't good, the swimming pool was just sad, the windows in my room were broken, TV from the 70s, and a lot of noise from the street, so definitley it is not a hotel to stay

I stayed at this hotel expecting the "usual" Intercontinental quality, but this property is a fiasco, definitely NOT 4 stars (I would say 2.5 stars). Here is some reasons:
Terrible rooms; old furniture, TV from the 70s, hideous furniture, disgusting carpet
Terrible service: I guess they are short in staff, because it takes approx 10 minutes for the "instant service line" to get answered
Bad amenities: Their "fitness center" in the size of a bathroom, an it has literally 2 machines (and there's always a line of 10 people waiting for using those 2 machines)
This property is definitely damaging the Intercontinental brand name

This so called 5 star hotel is an absolute nightmare. The rooms are noisy, dirty, worn out, mildew in the bathroom, shower not working properly, bed linnen is dirty with blood stains. Service leaves a lot of room for improvement. This hotel is 100% disgusting!

Old, dusty, smelly hotel. Deadly needs total refurbishment. This hotel must not have 5 stars and Interontinental brand.

Room: old furniture with scratches and stains, broken sockets, lamp not working, TV with no remote control, cheap and old bathroom equipment , windows are not well isolated, very noisy.

Lobby and restaurant: all smelly with nicotine, service is slow, food is average. Found a ole in the ceiling on the 6th floor just when left the elevator.

Service: average, not really bad, staff slow but trying to be helpful, but not friendly. Speaking some english on reception, but not in restaurants.

Executive lounge was closed for 2 days "for maintenance", in fact one of the day was local public holiday.

Gym is closed "for renovation" times ago. Three cardio machines(one is broken though) is provided in a room on 6th floor, no water, towels and air-condition in the room.

I stayed one night, I invited a local girl to my room the security stop us at the lobby and asked for a entrance fee for additional guest of 250 Bsf !
Lot of money !! no way to convince them we were forced to meet outside the hotel, pay or leave it. For me it was totally unacceptable. for me is blacklisted. No Mas !

We were there for a wedding had a standard room. Maybe being from the US our expectations were greater.
Our room had stains on the rug, mold in the shower the drain did not work it took 30 minutes to drain and our AC did not work. That was the first night.
We moved to a sweet which is equal to a standard room in the US. The AC did work however there was mold in the shower the toilet did not work properly and we had to wait until after 8pm to get new linens on the bed and towels. We were not the guests in that room the night before.
We asked for a wake up call to catch a 6am flight. Thank goodness we set an alarm as well no call came.
The pool has cracked tiles and algea on the bottom.

I rate this hotel equal to an old Holiday Inn.
