The restaurant changed its name to Fugu recently. It is a fancy Japanese restaurant located in one of the most popular zones in Caracas. The restaurant is beautiful, it has a little lounge area to sit while you wait for a table or drink cocktails and a VIP room for more exclusive events.
The staff is polite and educated, and the food is fresh, well presented and in suitable portions. They have a wide variety of appetizers from edamame, gyoza, wakame and neptune salads to veggie and prawn tempura. A nice variety of classic rolls (since this is not really a fusion cuisine restaurant), skewered grilled, nigiri, sashimi, udon and soup dishes.
The fish was fresh, the tempura was light and thin, but none of the dishes I tried in my visit really made a lasting impression while I ate my meal, I only truly enjoyed the neptune salad as it was masterfully prepared, not even the fancier fuji and dragon rolls with prawn tempura, and fancy toppings really stood out for me.
This is an expensive restaurant and the food is good, but not great enough for me to come back and pay what they charge here for a couple to eat.
