This hotel is nothing short of perfect. The rooms are gorgeous, the property is spectacular, and it's just a 2 minute water taxi ride from great shopping and cantinas in Barra de Navidad.

When we arrived the hotel was only about 35% occupied, so they offered us an upgraded room for $100/night more (we were already paying $295).
For that $100, we were upgraded to a HUGE suite! Approximately 1,500-2,000 square feet, something Jennifer Lopez stays in. One of the bathrooms (there were 2) even had a sunken marble jacuzzi tub and a steamroom!

The service at this hotel was also excellent. The second wanted anything at all, it was there for us. The prices for food and drinks were comparable to prices in the US, but if you want to save a little money here and there, just hop on the water taxi and go to Barra, where shrimp dinner and cocktails for 4 is $20!

We arranged for a private boat tour one day through the activity kiosk.
What a great day! We went into the jungle, saw tons of crocodiles (who knew they were in mexico??), went to a small town for lunch, did some fishing, and finished up the day with some beautiful snorking (different spot than the crocs, of course). I would highly recommend this excursion, $300 if charged, $200 cash for the private boat, all day, with captain.
