Just got back from 4 wonderful nights at Kulu Bay. The Bures are large, bright, and well furnished. The hotel is owned by an American couple who imported all the furnishings from the USA. Each room is decorated with IKEA furniture. Our Bure had three beds (king, 2 twin bins), and two bathrooms. The linens are very plush -- frette robepars, oversized towels. Each of the 7 Bures (they are in the process of adding 3 smaller rooms, a honeymoon villa, and 4 garden villas) are steps away from the ocean.

The staff is very attentive to guests needs. Each Bure has a Bure assistant that is the guest's go to person for just about anything -- requests, activities, questions.

The food ranged from good to gourmet. Highlight dishes during our stay included chicken curry with okra, lamb shank (shown on their website), chicken stir fry. Sometimes our fish and meats were overcooked just a bit. However, this is the by far the best food I've ever had at an all-inclusive.

This is not a resort for the person who likes an action packed vacation. If you enjoy reading a book by the ocean, and just letting time pass by, Kulu Bay is the right choice. When we were there, there were 5 guests in total. It is a very quiet, relaxed atmosphere. We snorkelled, kayaked, hiked, scubad, and visited a village during our stay.

The only drawback to Kulu when we were there was the bug factor. Easily fixable though, just bring bugspray.

I would highly recommend Kulu, and hope to return one day. It was great!

I just got back from my honeymoon at Kulu Bay Resort and wanted to share my wonderful experience. It was a little difficult to get information before we went since it is such a new resort so this way maybe I can help others!

We stayed in bure #4, but all seven are identical and right on the beach. Couldn't believe how upscale it was, considering the great price we paid. The beach was shallow and sandy so it was great for swimming and wading. As you can tell from my name, I am very into scuba diving. The dive instructor, Joe, was so great and showed us some amazing sites! He's very friendly and wonderfully patient!

We loved our rooms and spent almost every evening relaxing on our deck. The food was very good and we felt so pampered! Massages in our room, private meals, and champagne! What a great relief after the stresses of the whole wedding process!

I really wish I was still there now that I am back in this Virginia winter! Hopefully, we will be able to return for our anniversary!!

My husband and I just came back from Kulu Bay Resort on Beqa Island and it was awesome! Jim found the resort by chance and we are so very very happy that we decided to go there.
The resort is new, only 7 bures, and all the bures are on the beach. I loved the large shower and bathtub and the bath robes. Jim loved the reclining chair in the living room and the hammock on the deck. We also had two fancy reclining chairs on the deck which was great to read in.
The staff was great and always says YES with a smile to all our requests. Our bure girl (butler) brings us coffee in bed in the morning and our Fiji Bitters when we watch the wonderful sunsets.
The food was delicious and fresh! Our favorites are grilled marlin with lolo sauce (fresh coconut creme), braised lamb shank and seared ahi tuna!
We had the lovo feast (food cooked over hot stones) and tried kava (a native drink made from the root of a pepper plant).
There is no tv, radio or telephone and it is all solar powered. We kayaked everyday and took a free guided hike up to a mountain top. The view was breathtaking. Snorkelling is just in front of the resort and there were so many types of fishes.
The diving is awesome. Joe, their dive instructor is very patient, cheerful and a good singer too. We saw our first lion fish!
We can't wait to go back in Jan 06 with my sister and her husband to celebrate their anniversary.
