“A moai factory”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Multiple moais remotely arranged, not on platforms. I nice walk up the hill. For me - the most interesting place to see moais on the island. The crater (in the same park) is in my opinion not worth the walk.

“My favourite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

This was my favourite site on the island - the quarry is such an interesting place with so many moai in different states. Some are finished, buried, in the process of being made, etc etc. I'd recommend going in the early morning to avoid the crowds so you can have time to sit close to the moai and stare at them in wonder.

The crater at this location was also very picturesque and worth the 5-10 minute walk. Note you do need to get your park pass ahead of time, at the airport is easiest ($60, by the entrance to the airport on the left hand side when you get off the plane).

“Firsthand visit to the carving site”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

It is a perfect starting place to see where the statues were made. One sees the impressive size of them and learn that they some are still partially buried underground and many have not been finished.

“Meaning "Quarry", also meaning the best place on the island!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

When you hear about this place and see the statues... Most are on this site. You get to take amazing shots as you walk along the paths... You will need your Park Entry pass for this gated site which opens 9-6pm... 60$/per person well worth it!

I have been to almost every part of the world (since i was working in airline industry) and because my passion in travel ... I have to say this is one of the best destination to visit and explore, highly recommended. Prepare some $$ though ... for the entrance fee to the National Park.
