“Going the extra mile”

I can't thank the people at Antigua Casona enough. I left a very sentimental ring in this very quaint hotel back in September and they returned it to me in New Zealand by post.
It's these sort of little things that make you really appreciate the staff and management of a hotel.
Will definitely be recommending this place to any friends heading to Argentina.

Cute room with cable tv, split AC and clean bathroom, Nice house and yard. The lady caretaker is very friendly. The bicycles all have flat tires. NIce breakfast. Bummer if you wish to stay in your room a little longer that 11 AM, they´ll charge you. You can leave your bags while you walk about town. Take a snack to your room. Overpriced.

We enjoyed our stay at Antigua Casona. The four cats and abundant toads were fun! It was relaxing and pleasant, however, prospective guests should be aware that this accommodation is somewhat minimalist in nature. There is no internet, no television, no phone - it is somewhat spartan. A bit overpriced in my opinion. We met three staff members during our visit. Betsy was wonderful, the fellow that greeted us when returning in the evenings was wonderful, the woman that was present at other times was cold, stern, and always seemed to be in a mad rush to finish with us and move on to something more important to her (who knows what - we were the only guests!).

My husband and I travelled by bus from Buenos Aires ( 2 hours ) to San Antonio de Arico. We stayed for 2 nights at Antigue Casona- close to the centre of the town. Although we spoke very little Spanish we were blown away by the atmoshere and friendly staff that helped us enjoy our stay. We were warmly greeted with afternoon tea served on the porch. Breakfasts were great! Lots of fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, breads etc.
The quality of the rooms was lovely - very romantic and relaxing. Highly recommended to couples looking for a place to relax and unwind away from the bustle of big cities.

Room Tip: Only 5 rooms - all seemed similar

Perfect B&B stay for San Antonio. We wanted something that felt authentic without paying the price of staying on an estancia (partner not keen on horses so would have been waste to pay for that). Very comfortable rooms, furnished with antiques. You can stay at a higher priced hotel nearby, but we were very glad to stay here instead - luxury and comfort was the same and we felt like we had a more authentic experience.

Rooms are along a long patio, with chairs and tables perfect for relaxing after exploring the town or a day on an estancia. Staff contacted a local taxi company for us and secured us tee times at a nearby golf course. You can also borrow bikes to tour the area.

All in all, exactly what we were looking for - we didn't want to leave!

This is a refurbished XIX century house with an excellent service. Cozy and intimate, it is ideal for a romantic getaway. There is a beautiful courtyard where you can have tea listening to the sound of birds and crickets. Very relaxing.
