“Solid hotel w/ very friendly & helpful front desk”
Reviewed November 20, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I were happy with our 4 night stay.

Stand out part of the hotel was the front desk, which was staffed by genuinely lovely and helpful ladies that went out of there way to help us on several occasions.

The rooms were good though not at all fancy. There was enough space for us, a comfortable bed, and good bathroom.

The location in Chalten is actually very good in my opinion with short distances to the best restaurants and trail heads. The great view mentioned in the description is somewhat mysterious and was not particularly evident to me from the hotel. Maybe if you climbed up on the roof?

Nonetheless: good hotel for most travelers--great front desk staff.

We stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon to Patagonia. Not sure if it was the magic of El Chalten but it was one if the favorite places we visited! Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, clean but very simple rooms, cozy common area and great location to leave from for your perfect hike.

Room Tip: The immediate surroundings of the hotel unfortunately didn't exactly match up to the lovely, qua...

We booked this last minute and were greatful to experience this cute town and beautiful park.

We arrived much earlier than check in and they held our bags and recommended some hikes.
The room was clean and quiet. The wifi was faster than we experienced in the larger cities.

Breakfast had plenty of options and the food was good.

They held our baggage again for us because we planned to take a later bus out of town.

I honestly can't say enough positive and nice things about Lunajuim. Charming, cute, friendly and the feeling of like you were 'coming home' after a day (or more) in the wilderness...it was exactly what my wife had hoped. Roxana, Eduardo and so many others personally contributed to these feelings by simply being the amazing people they are. After nearly a week of living just down the hall from the front desk, my wife and I found ourselves honestly choking up when we realized that our run at the establishment had ended and we were on our way home. From the soft music playing over the speakers in the AM, to the crackling fires and well-earned glass of wine in the evenings, this family-run hotel makes you feel like one of the clan and truly is matched by few. Simple pleasures my friends. You'll remember what that means when you experience Patagonia through El Chalten...and Lunajuim.

Thank you for everything - Brian and Nicole

This hotel was one of the friendliest and helpful we stayed in on our journey. We did have to request a different room then the one first given to us due to a moldy smell, but they immediately and cheerfully obliged us.
We did not eat here so I cannot comment of the quality of the food, however the front desk went above and beyond to recommend places based on what we were hungry for as well as calling for us to reserve.
We had some laundry done here, all by hand and hung dry. A little expensive but the care given amazing.
The artwork throughout the hotel was adorable.

One of the better hotels in El Chalten. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Two young ladies at the front desk are very friendly, efficient, and helpful. The hotel even picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station.

We had dinner at the hotel one night. It was simple but reasonably good, better than what we expected. On the other hand, we couldn't say the same thing about the packed lunch. The tuna sandwich we had was very dry, not much tuna in it. There was a store, Benjamin's, around the corner that sells good empanadas for lunch.

For those of you plan to hike Laguna del los Tres. You can ask the hotel to arrange a taxi to bring you to the trail head at Hotel Pilar. Starting from there back to El Chalten gives you a one-way hike with the view of Glacier Blanco. It also takes off one hour hiking time and make it a bit easier.

This was one of the most wonderful experience we ever had in a hotel (and we do travel a lot :O). It was our first visit to Argentina and definitely the stay at Lunajuim had the most positive impact on us. Extremely clean and well-kept and exhibiting a great personality, the premises leave the guest with a very good feeling. What makes the difference is the personnel; Eduardo and Roxi are by far the most friendly and pleasant people we met in our trip. They really go way beyond their duty to make you feel welcomed and for someone that is so far away from home that is very special! Genuinely kind people they add to the warm atmosphere of the hotel and together create memories of a place that will not fade soon.
We miss you all!
