To get to the lodge you have to drive about 35km of gravel road from El Chaltén to the South end of the lake Lago del Desierto, where you will be picked up by a boat. The alternative is to hike to the Lodge. In that case the boat will take your luggage and tourguide Juli will take you on a 3 to 4 hour hike. We took the boat. Hosts Pato and Ivor welcomed us and asked us not to think of the lodge as a hotel but as a house and a home. That worked out perfectly. We really felt at home and we loved every second of our stay. The house is beautiful and our room was very spacious. It had a spectacular view of the glacier on the other side of the lake. Guide Juli took us and another guest on some beautiful hikes and we had a great time.
The Lodge does not have Wifi but who wants to get online with that stunning landscape around them? They do have a cable connection if you absolutely have to get online ;-)More
