A must do in el chalten after a day hiking.
Their chocolates are excellent and the vibe is cool, really old stuff and local cool stuff on the walls. Even locals hang out there....

We went to La Chocolateria for a late lunch on a rain-day in El Chalten and had the best pizza (thin crust!) that we had in that town. The waiter was super-friendly and we ate in the little upstairs nook with the great view over Mt FitzRoy. The "handrails" to go up there are old wooden skis! Had a little chocolate-covered dulce-de-leche filled morsel for dessert. Yum!

Like the rest of the chocolate in Patagonia, it's overhyped. But this is a very cute place and good spot to stop in for a hot chocolate. We also bought an alfajor and a few bars of chocolate to take away, and were underwhelmed. They also prepare some foods like sandwiches and whatnot, but we only tried the chocolate.

I love this place. Great spot to settle in for an alcoholic hot chocolate, amazing snacks and a game of cards after a long hard walk.

We stopped to warm up and have some coffee and fill out postcards. What a treat! The staff was very nice as we spoke in our best Spanish and they certainly appreciated it and told us that they liked when tourists at least tried to speak the language.
We enjoyed cookies and coffee while filling out some postcards. It is a lovely little space with incredible views and a warm fire going. Amzing to get out of the wind and enjoy the coziness. We enjoyed the chocolate so much, we got some for the rest of our week of hiking.
