This B and B is located on a quiet road just outside the charming and energetic village of Baie St Paul. The home is beautiful and our room was very clean and comfortable. The room's sliding door led to a lovely large patio where you could sit, relax and watch the great St. Lawrence flow by. A very peaceful and tranquil location after a busy day. Breakfast was excellent and included local foods. Our hosts were warm, gracious and able to provide good recommendations for dinner. Definitely a spot we would return to, when next travelling this way.

Our host Jeannot and his daughter were extremely accommodating and helpful during our two night stay. The common spaces are comfortable, as are the downstairs bedrooms, though our room was just a little small. Our breakfasts were excellent and served at a very early hour on Sunday morning so that we could make the early ferry across the St. Lawrence at Saint Simeon that morning. The absolutely best part of the B & B, however, is the spacious garden just outside the slider at one end of our room and its comfortable chairs with stunning views of the St. Lawrence before and below us and the Isle d' Coudres. I really enjoyed sitting out there day and night to gaze at the beautiful river scene. The nearby town of Baie-St-Paul boasts a beach and park on the wide river, many art galleries, and many restaurants that run the full gamut of price ranges from simple pizza to fine French dining, plus an interesting bakery and a terrific ice cream shop. Our hosts made recommendations and reservations for us. Although our bath room was not as handicapped accessible and friendly as we might like, we enjoyed our brief stay thoroughly and recommend Gite Au Perchoir highly.

We stayed Au Perchoir for 1 night in the "marée haute" room. We loved the view. The room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast was generous with home made jams and local products. Our hosts are new owners and have owned the gite for a year. They were very attentive and welcoming.
Great stay. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights at Au Perchoir, and truly can't wait to go back again next year. We only got to meet Jeannot, who was a wonderful and graceful host. Our room was renovated and spotless, the linens fresh and clean. The view overlooking the river was absolutely breathtaking, and the bed and breakfast was completely removed from the highway creating a peaceful haven. We can't say enough about our host, who went out of his way to make us feel welcome and at home. He arranged some tours for us, and gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. The bed and breakfast is only 3 km from Baie St Paul and about 30 mins from La Malbaie. And the breakfasts! So delicious! Thank you so much Jeannot!!! Erin and Ryan

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely, but the room on the upper floor is the largest and the sunniest. There wa...

We were 2 couples that stayed 2 nights at this wonderful BB.... their location was in a perfect setting overlook the entire "fleuve " seeing big ships going by, the tranquility and peace of the area just made it very enjoyable. The rooms were completely renovated, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast were delicious, a big variety of choices and fresh produce and homemade foods....sitting in a beautiful setting overlooking the " fleuve"
Our host , Line & Jeannot, were just amazing, beautiful people, very thoughtful and caring a delight to be around them , we definitively will return....

We spent an amazingly romantic and charming stay. The view of the St-Laurence was really nice. It was an unforgettable and beautiful setting. The hosts were kind and accommodating. It is a beautiful house which is kept very clean. All toilet amenities were provided and the bed was really comfortable. The room we had a private balcony with a view on the Bay.

The breakfast was complete: toasts, jams, cheese, spreads, coffee, juice, fruits salad with yogurt, milk, creton and a main "meal".

We would not hesitate to recommend this B &B and we plan on returning here in the future.

Room Tip: Maree haute is the best room with a private balcony with a view of the Bay.

Our hosts were cold and bizarre. From the moment we Walked in, we had clearly upset them by wearing our shoes into a seemingly public Area Of the b&b. No smiles or niceties, just a straight faced explanation of what's what. We were verbally attacked by the owner for having let in the cat, which was aloud in the house just not in that particular section. This was the absolute worst b&b experience of my life, we left early and would not suggest ever visiting this nut house. To ad insult to injury, When we booked they told us that the only room available was the biggest most expensive room but the place was clearly vacant.
