This inn is a good choice if you're not looking for luxury or unique lodgings. Our room had some charm, and was comfortable and roomy enough, had two comfortable chairs, which is often not the case, and was very clean and very well situated. We had not booked ahead, and so we looked at a several other places, including Maison Otis (see below), and we were happy when we found this inn and were extremely happy with the room for two days, The staff speaks little english , which is not a problem, but you don't get the connection with innkeepers if you do not speak french. First of all, it is located in town, within walking of everything, several of the higher rate dinns are well outside of town. The house and grounds are well kept, and there is a upper balcony off the hallway from the rooms at the back, where you can sit and sunbathe, or read and relax.
the breakfast was very ordinary, not terrible but we felt it was not worth the extra $10 per person, and the second day we ate elswhere. The reaturant looks nice, but having experienced breakfast, we weren't inclined to try the dinner or lunch.
we felt it was good value, clean and comfortable and had some nice small touches. FYI, Maison Otis, which is recommended in a few travel books, is in bad need of updating. rooms and the whole place smells musty, good servie when we asked to see rooms, but we were turned off by the atmsosphere. we ate La noir Mouton - excellent! but no lamb that night on the menu! go figure...
