My friends and I were so excited to have our road trip in Wasaga beach this year and the Dyconia was legit the best spot we could've picked. They didn't give us a hard time about noise or partying, there were so many people our age raging in the foam pit. The volleyball spot was excellent to meet the hot neighbours in the day and play a few games before hitting to pool and beach. The added bonus was the walk to the main end, it's close enough to walk but far enough that it was quiet when we needed sleep and didn't have to wait or pay for cabs. We've been screwed over for damage deposits in Wasaga before and this place didn't screw us around about it at all, the front desk even gave us a second chance to keep it if we cleaned up the room after we went to check out. Honestly couldn't think of a better long weekend spot in Wasaga. The rooms and property aren't like the city, but it's like a party summer camp for people our age (all in our 20s). Can't wait to get back this summer

Room Tip: The rooms to the right side of the main entrance are great for getting to know your neighbours cause everyone parties on their patios and it's close to the pool/foam party and volleyball

I been going to Wasaga beach from last 25 years. I’ve almost stayed in every motel as they have a very short season that's why there is not a single name brand hotel there. I been coming to this hotel from last three years. each time i go i see improvements and i love the location. I usually get number 46 which is the last room on the second floor & you can see and hear the water from this room. The staff is very friendly my kids really enjoy the pool and pool games. It’s not 4 or 5 star but really great place to stay close to the beach. I will be coming back. If you're looking to party, book this hotel not the ones down the road. This is the place for that. If you want a nice, clean, relaxing place to party and have fun then this is the hotel for you. The entire security and staff were cool with us (letting us play loud music, have friends over during the day, keeping us safe, you name it).

Room Tip: 46 had a great view of the river

Me and my buddies went to the Dyconia for a bachelor party last summer !!! Great place to party, definitely had a blast. They had a foam party at night and drinking around the fire pit as well. The staff was cool to let us play guitar and sing around the fire which we did until the sun came up. They had lots of security on site and a very easy going atmosphere. We rented a few of the cottages and partied all weekend and the walk to the bars was like fifteen minutes. A few of our friends decided to come up from the city to party with us but they had no rooms left to rent and told us if they had any cancellations they would let us know. They ended up calling us while we were at the bar and said they had a room open up and that they would hold it for us. All in all it was the perfect place to have stayed. Definitely going back this summer !!!!

Myself and my three friends have just returned from our weekend at The Dyconia Resort in Wasaga Beach and we felt inclined to leave a review here for everyone to see.

First and foremost, regardless of all the negativity you see here in the reviews, there is extreme over-exaggeration on almost every level of complaint that previous travelers have expressed. Just like you are now, myself and my friends made our way here to read reliable trip reviews and regardless of what we read and due to time constraints, we booked regardless and we were absolutely thrilled with the value we received for the cost.

      1. There was no sort of extended wait for us or any other guests that were there checking in at the same time and the front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful from the get-go. On top of that, we were randomly greeted by an upgrade from a regular one bedroom suite with two double beds and a futon in the living room, to a 2 bedroom cottage with two double beds in each room plus two futons in the living room, and we're especially thankful for that!

      2. The grounds aren't going to completely blow you away and the rooms aren't Ceasar's Palace suites but the place is not a dump like many people have made it seem. The prices are low but the value is there, 100%.

      3. Although there are a ton of grasshoppers in the area, we experienced no problems with bugs in our cottage and to say that they were smeared across the ceiling, walls and fridge is absolutely absurd. There was no such issue in our cottage, nor any of our neighbors cottages or suites that we spent time at.

      4. We had no broken furniture or beds and we had no problems with our doors locking.

      5. The location is centrally located between tons of major stores and minor shops and a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk to the majorly populated areas of the beach.

      6. One thing I will say, I don't know whether this resort is meant for families, younger parties or both but during our stay, we had all types of travelers and there were no issues. As a whole, the resort grounds were fairly quiet late at night but the restrictions on guests to not have fun are false.

Overall, The Dyconia Resort is a much better establishment that indicated here and I can only hope that in reading this review you trust your gut and go for it because we truthfully enjoyed our stay and will be returning. This is an absolute, on the money, bang for your buck, steal of a resort and I recommend it to both younger crowds going to Wasaga for a good time and for families looking to vacation to the beach. Cheers.

I would not recommend this to anyone. Dirty cottage. Dead squished bugs on ceilings and walls. Toilet and tub dirty. Floor dirty and did not seem to have been cleaned in years. Wore our shoes all the time. Kitchens shelving, microwave and fridge dirty with dead insects and spider webs. No screens on windows. Sliding door broken and did not shut nor lock. Anyone could get in if they wanted to. No screen on sliding door. Had to wear bracelets day and night to stay there. Only one small pot and one big pot. No dishes. No cutlery. No glasses.

Room Tip: Don't believe the pictures or their promises.
