“Our Home town special spot”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

The Spitfire is where we go most Friday nights since it opened. We do not eat out a lot,, but have always enjoyed our meals there. The large number of beers is the big draw for my husband. For me it is the social thing of friends and making new friends and the music and dancing. Lots of times we are the only ones dancing, but we like to dance so we do. It is a small dance area and would like that to be bigger, but probably my one complaint. It is not a large pub but it has recently had the upstairs opened up some and redone the area up there. It is similar to the downstairs with rooms that can be rented out for private functions as well. The main pub part upstairs has a camera that can show the band and makes it more like the lower area. They have recently replaced some of the older chairs downstairs, renovated the kitchen, worked on roof and windows and things are still a work in progress. There is music Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings most times. We find this place friendly and the staff know us. The patio is an added bonus in the summer. We have become friends with the owner. It is true that they own the Clockmaker Inn too and give 15% off to their guests that visit the pub. We highly recommend a visit to the Spitfire to have a meal, a drink or just socialize, or all three. See you at the pub..

“Good place to eat”

Bonus: The owner of the Clockmaker's Inn is also the owner of the Spitfire. We got 15% off just by staying there. :)

“Good eats.”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Definitely the best restaurant we ate at on our week-long trip. Super service. Great meals. I had a jambalaya, my wife the haddock dinner and my daughter the mango salmon, and we all came away very satisfied with our choices. My wife and daughter were also happy with the cheesecakes they had for dessert. Wish we could have been there when they have live music.

If you're looking for great pub fare food and service, stop in to The Spitfire. Prices are good, too.

“A good dinner in a pub”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

A little bit noisy - it's a pub... - but you can ask to be installed in the second part, not too close to the musicians.
