Skiing at Martock is about one hour from the Halifax/Dartmouth city area and about one hour from Bridgewater and surrounding towns. A wonderful place to spend the day with tiny tots as young as 2.5 years old taking lessons on skis and snowboards. The hill is well looked after with grooming and lots of snow made nightly when Mother Nature does not provide enough. Also there is a vigilant ski patrol on duty watching out for everyone. There is also group and private ski lessons provided by those who are more advanced and trained to teach. The hill is also open for class trips and has a senior ski club.
The ski lodge has lots of tables for everyone to enjoy their lunches and coffee breaks. This complex has been well used over the years and probably could use a facelift, however it does provide a great place for young people to learn the sport of skiing and snowboarding.
During the weeks days there is school trips but normally it is more quiet on the slopes than on the weekends. A great place for everyone to get out and enjoy the outdoors, gets lots of exercise and learn the great skill of skiing. A fun place to spend the day. All skiers have to wear helmets which is a great Nova Scotian law for the safety of all those on the hills.
