Shiraz is a city with so many beautiful things to do and see. As with most of Iran, hotels are not in the same league as their historical/natural sites and people’s friendliness. Homa hotel is regarded as a five star hotel, but compared to international standards it is three stars.
Lobby is large and bustling with life all the time. The hotel was built before the revolution, so décor is retro. However it is nice. There are some gardens and tennis courts outside. At evening, it’s a good place to spend some time or drink a beverage.
Service is adequate, no more. No friendliness in people and they won’t do more for you than the minimum. We asked for one bed and got two, nothing could be done because they were full (apparently).
Breakfast is normal for Iranian standards.
Rooms are small and clean enough to sleep. Bathroom is very dated and furniture makes it feel cramped. The views to hotel garden were one of the highlights. We had an old squared TV. Amenities are almost the same as all hotels in Iran.
However the hotel (there is a newer, perhaps it’s better if open), the city has many things worth going. Persepolis alone makes the trip (and there are so much more!). I’m not sure there is something better, but go to Shiraz.
