Mortimer House in Crickhowell is a must stay / visit. The apartment is perfect for a small group and has great facilities with a lovely outdoor garden. It had a lot of charm and I particularly loved some of the furniture pieces which gave the apartment its character.
The space was very clean with fresh towels and bedding throughout as well a lovely welcome pack for our arrival.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone :)
Our second visit to Mortimer house and it won't be our last, definitely home from home. We will be coming back for years to come. Thank you to Beth, the welcome pack was lovely x

The pretty Easter Display in the window set the scene for the care and attention to detail throughout No 1. Our favourable first impressions were enhanced as we keenly explored our home for the next week. From the welcome hamper with delicious welsh cakes, to the fact that we could make a cuppa as soon as we settled in, due to the thoughtfully provided tea/coffee/milk supplies we knew we were in for a very comfortable stay. Lovely toiletries are provided, in fact one of the best body exfoliators I have come across for a while! The place is beautifully decorated and has an appealing indulgent feel.
Beth the housekeeping was very welcoming and informative.
All the above and situated so conveniently on charming Crickhowell High Street and within a stone’s throw of several friendly pubs. We will be back!
Had a wonderful short break here. The beds were very luxurious and comfortable! Whole place was very clean and well looked after. We received a very warm welcome on arrival.
Nice touches everywhere, a welcome basket etc was left, which was great. Ideal location , and they allowed me to bring my dog 'Hetti'. Who also enjoyed. We hope to return as soon as we can .
My mother (age 86) and I have made several trips to Wales over the years, and I recently became concerned about her ability to navigate steps in the B&B where we had been staying. Mike Davies, of Dragon Tours, arranged for us to stay this time at Mortimer House in Crickhowell, and we loved it! We were greeted with a welcome pack that included fresh local bread & cider, and the refrigerator was stocked with butter--even ice cubes in the freezer! We stayed in the ground floor apartment, and it was lovely! Very spacious & nicely organized, with access to a beautiful patio area off the kitchen, the apartment offered two large bedrooms, a bath, living & dining areas, and a well-appointed kitchen, which included a washer & dryer (which I could not figure out, but didn't need. There are, however, available instructions on all the appliances). The wi-fi was also a welcome addition, since I brought my tablet with me. We had the opportunity to view the other apartments available as well, and they were equally beautiful.
I particularly appreciated the location, within easy walking distance to shops, the bank, and the pub at the Bear. I would highly recommend Mortimer House to anyone who's looking for a well-appointed vacation rental. I could very easily live there permanently!
