“The perfect base in Crickhowell for a walking holiday and enjoying this beautiful old town”
Reviewed August 30, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

My sister and I booked this lovely 2 bedroom cottage for a week in July/August 2017. We found it had everything we needed for our holiday. It is furnished simply but tastefully, the kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfortable, the garden lovely, and it was very quiet. It is in fact an old stone cottage renovated to be comfortable but not losing its period feel. Our hosts were just up the street and very friendly and helpful. They also provided a nice selection of books including some on flora and wildlife of the area and suggestions for walks. There was a nice music system and a TV with a selection of films. Hot water was plentiful and linens and towels very nice. It was spotlessly clean. The location couldn't be better just up Bridge street from the beautiful old bridge and the Bridge Street Pub. Crickhowell has some attractive pubs with very good food and these were in easy walking distance. We really had such an enjoyable holiday. It was over too soon and we would love to return and take this same cottage again.

“Lovely cottage, great location”
Reviewed June 24, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Just returned from a lovely stay at Ramblers Rest. Very well equipped with a great location for getting to pubs and restaurants for dinner. Very clean and comfortable.

Lovely garden for the evenings or a 30 second walk from the riverside. We have been coming to the Brecon Beacons at least twice a year for the last 10 years and this was a great addition. Recommend the Bear and Red Indigo for dinner. If you cannot get parked outside the main car park is only £3.20 all day and night and perfectly safe.

“Lovely comfortable cottage”
Reviewed June 12, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Crickhowell is a lovely place, with fabulous scenery and lots of good places to eat. This cottage is quite central, and very quiet as it is on a one way street, which is really an access only road for the other houses. We were left some goodies to welcome us, and the house was spotless and very well equipped. Christina, the owner, lives locally and is friendly and helpful. A great week in one of our favourite places!

“Wonderful, home from home, cozy cottage”
Reviewed November 15, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

I felt instantly at home when I walked through the door of Ramblers Rest. It is warm and cozy and has that something that you can't quite put your finger on that made me feel relaxed and content. Thanks Christina for being a great host, look forward to returning sometime.

“Perfect for our young family”
Reviewed November 10, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We stayed at Ramblers Rest with our 5 year old and 3 year old back in Feb. It was perfect for us. Fantastic location down by the river with a short walk into town. The cottage was VERY clean and warm and VERY well kitted out. Little touches like plastic beakers for the kids and kiddies outdoor chairs made our two feel welcome and relaxed, and the Cider and biscuits on arrival made us feel welcome too! Having lived in Crickhowell I know how parking can be there but it was never a problem. The garden was ideal for our little ones, very sheltered and very, very safe and secure. Thank you Christina and sorry for the very late review (maybe I was trying to keep your lovely place a secret!!).

“Fantastic cottage in a fantastic town”
Reviewed July 14, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The cottage is a lovely place to stay. A great garden, it's a perfect place to read in the sun. It's a very relaxing setting. We really enjoyed our stay. There's the slight issue of wifi but with a hotspot just outside the front door it's a very minor one.
