I'm not easily impressed but I couldn't find fault with anything at Glan Y Dwr. Location was great for wandering into Crickhowell, the room was beautiful and our hosts were lovely so I really can't fault it. Highly recommended.

My sister, niece and I stayed here in August and it exceeded all our expectations. Alison and Julian are wonderful hosts, and you won't find more beautiful rooms any where. It's easy to find, the village is beautiful with great pub and restaurants, and you will be totally pampered in any one of the superb rooms. So go and enjoy.

My family & myself were doing some family history research in the area & booked into this B&B after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. When reviews are so high, you are always a little wary that your expectations won't be met....but rest assured they will be.
The level of thought that has gone into the comfort of the guests is second to none, everything from the toiletries, decor, bedlinen & certainly the food is absolutely superb & of a very high quality. You will not be disappointed. The owners, have put a huge amount of care into this b&b and it shows - everywhere. You have the use of the dining room, the sitting room & the garden & all of the bedrooms are lovely. You really feel at home and the owners are a delight.
Nothing is too much trouble for them, even getting gluten free food & non dairy items for us awkward ones! Their GF sausages are to die for!
Our only regret was that we only stayed one night! So if you are looking for a B&B in this area, book this one, you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Skirrid & Sugar Loaf are the largest & sunnier rooms, Pen Y Fan is cosier but still roomy &a...

We stayed at Glan Y Dwr for six nights in June and were amazed by the quality of the food and hospitality. The hosts were so thoughtful and considerate and the room so comfortable, we have never known better. We would love to go again and would recommend this place.

My fiancee and I were travelling through Wales on our way back to get married in Bristol and decided to stay for 3 nights at this B&B. We were travelling with our 11 month old daughter also. We enjoyed everything about our stay at this B&B, the travel cot was already set up in our room, the room was in immaculate condition and bathroom very clean with all that you need for to bath a baby. Every morning the breakfast was superb, high chair also supplied for our daughter to eat with us. It truly met our needs in terms of some relaxation and not having to worry about travelling with all the things required for a baby was a massive plus. The location was also extremely good, right in the middle of town and only a walk to local shops and pubs. Thank you so much Julian and Alison for a fantastic 3 nights. Sorry it took us so long to write this!

Although there are many hotels and B&Bs that are pleasant and comfortable to stay in, there are few that I would say are so comfortable that staying there almost feels like being at home, but this is the case with Glan Y Dwr. So much has been thought of to make your stay more comfortable, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the large room for two nights in early August 2012. The room has a large ensuite, with an excellent shower and extremely clean. It offers views out over the valley, although these can also be viewed from the communal sitting room and conservatory downstairs. Beds were very comfortable, with good quality duvet and pillows that do not contain feathers - something that, as an asthma sufferer, I really appreciated.

Breakfasts are possibly the highlight at Glan Y Dwr, with a huge choice of cereals, toast with local jams and marmalades, fruit, eggs, and of course the full welsh breakfast (including a vegetarian option). These are eaten a single large dining table which gave us a great opportunity to chat to the other guests and the staff, giving the B&B an even friendlier, communal feel.

Overall it is highly recommended, we'll certainly be staying there again!

We booked this because of the excellent Tripadvisor reviews and the property and the friendliness of the owners exceeded even these expectations. We could not fault the room, which had everything we needed. We were also able to use the lounge, conservatory, dining room and garden, which meant that you didn't have to be stuck in your room, as is often the case. The breakfast was outstanding, with a substantial amount of local produce. The hosts, Julian and Alison, couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable. If we return to the Brecon Beacons for a short break again there's no contest where we will stay!
