We stayed in the Studio for three nights and managed a walk up Table Mountain and a less taxing amble along the canal before seeing in the New Year. After enduring some very cold, wintry weather on our treks, the Studio was always a pleasure to return to. Warm, cosy, welcoming and spotless, the accommodation was ideal as a base to explore the beautiful Usk Valley and its surroundings. A quiet and peaceful night’s sleep is guaranteed! The garage underneath was great for drying out our walking gear overnight.
Crickhowell village centre is no more than a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed an evening meal in the Bear Hotel and coffee in the Latte-da Tearoom as well as some self- catering when joined for the evening by a couple of friends.
This is the perfect place to relax if you enjoy the outdoors. After arrival, the car didn’t move until our departure. Put it away in the garage and forget about it! There’s a good bus service (we are old enough to have bus passes, so free for us) from the village – we caught the bus to Bwlch and walked back along the canal – a welcome contrast to Table Mountain the day before.
We’d recommend the Studio as a base for walking, cycling or exploring the beautiful scenic surroundings. We will definitely be returning.
