Stayed here recently for one night on my way to North Wales. It was very busy on the night that I was here. The majority of the reviews here are very good and I would certainly stay here again if necessary. Critics should bear in mind that this is a three star hotel in a Victorian listed building and there is a limit to what can be done here.
The room I had was "homely" perhaps but perfectly comfortable. The bathroom a bit old-fashioned but quite clean and tidy.
Staff pleasant and helpful. I had dinner which was OK but for me the main course was too big and a bit greasy although my normal diet is small portions of light food. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered it!
A bit pricey. Beautiful setting - the grounds and the surrounding countryside.More
