We visit Kilsby house once a year and have done so for the last 10 years or more. Given more time we would be constant visitors. From the beautiful setting in the Welsh valleys to the warm and wonderful hospitality of Sue and Chris Cooper, our visit is the highlight of our year. Regardless of the size of the group we are always made welcome. The rooms are spotless, furnished with homemade bara brith cakes, jams and beverage making facilities. The whole place is the perfect setting for breakaways or weekend rests. In terms of customer care and service Kilsby sets the bar very high yet we are constantly impressed year upon year. Looking forward to the next visit already.....

This is a great place to stay and hosts Sue and Chris offer a very warm welcome in their lovely country house. I have stayed here for pleasure and enjoyed walking in the largely unknown hills, so jumped at the chance to return when I had a business meeting in the area.

Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Have now stayed at the Kilsby 3 times and have always had a warm welcome.

It is in a tranquil and secluded location, ideal if you're looking for a quiet break.
Rooms are clean and tidy - not en-suite but well appointed with tea/coffee/biscuits/bara brith (if you don't know what it is you'll have to come and find out!)
It's run by Sue and Chris who, although not originally from the area, have great local knowledge if you want to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Chris is also a keen angler and can advise on all the best places to fish if you fancy casting a line.
An ideal base for anyone mad enough to want to get involved with one of Green Events activities.
Great breakfasts too!

Highly recommended. I have personally stayed at the Kilsby every year for many years and my friends and i are always happy to return. We always get a great welcome and the atmosphere is so friendly. Being athletes we get a heathly choice at breakfast with freshly baked bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit and porridge although it is hard to resist the superb cooked full english on offer but enjoy the second day of our stay. The setting is spectacular with views across the welsh hills and although in a quiet location it is still within easy walking distance to the village amenities. In all i would say it is great value for money and give 10/10 to all aspects of our visit. Very enjoyable.

Was made to feel welcome right from the start. The House is a lovelly old building with heaps of character but lovely and warm too. Little touches in the rooms such as a slice of bara brith on arrival make it a touch above the rest.

I would advise anyone to stay there who enjoys beign out in the country.

I have been staying at the Kilsby's for almost a decade now with my family and extended family since we participate annually in the Man v Horse Marathon. The long weekend that we spend there has become our favourite moment of the year (I live in Paris, I ski in the Alps and in the USA, I travel extensively in Asia, Europe and Australia, so I'm not stuck for places to compare!). Sue and Chris are marvelously friendly, accommodating and great fun to be with and I consider them to be good friends, the house is charming, warm and possesses a character of its own, the views are breathtaking, the breakfast is to die for, the rooms and cottage are very very comfortable and the setting is peaceful and frankly beautiful. It is noteworthy that Sue and Chris continue to invest succesfully in maintaining the rural atmosphere and in keeping an optimal equilibrium between get away from it all and modern comfort. The town (smallest in Britain) is a mere country mile away down windy leafy lanes or an enchanting walk along a bubbling river. The people in the town are extremely friendly, and it is well served with pubs and restaurants. I dare anyone to go to Kilby's and not fall in love with the place. WIth my family we have toured extensively B&B's and hotels in Europe, UK and Ireland and whilst we feel that we have always been lucky in finding excellent places we reserve a special place for Kilsby's at the top of our list for its uniqueness and because of the gestalt that exists between its location, Sue and Chris, and the quality of our stay there. I unreservedly recommend Kilsby's.

A really a wonderful place in a beautiful location and it's run by a lovely family.
The area is quite special and is to explore on foot and there is loads to see and do by car. The house itself is lovely as are the rooms and the garden. You won't find friendlier,
more accomodating hosts than Sue & Chris with Sue providing, simply the best breakfast you could ever wish for!
We have stayed with Sue & Chris twice; on our last two trips to the UK from Australia; and we will certainly be wanting to stay there again on any future trips.
As I said to Sue after this last stay "the main problem with Kilsby is that it spoils you for most other B&B's!"
Thanks Sue for such a delightful time... Peter Enness, Melbourne, Australia.
