“Lovely weekend - wish we could have stayed longer”
Reviewed February 17, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Lovely warm clean and well equipped cottage.
Peaceful location about 1.25 miles from local restaurants and shop.
Tourist Information in local pub
We thoroughly enjoyed St Davids Walk (about 20km) from cottage. Did a couple of others too.
Poor phone signal or TV not an issue as lovely to get away from it all!

“Best Christmas Ever!”
Reviewed December 27, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We have just spent a lovely 4 nights at this cottage with our daughter to celebrate Christmas. Daughter was in no way impressed with the lack of phone signal, but we as her parents found it 'refreshing'. Our darling cherub 'did' manager to get a signal outside the cottage while standing under a tree! Should anyone be utterly desperate of wi-fi during their stay, firstly 'Why'?? go for a walk & have a conversation! secondly, if you drive to town and sit on the windowsill outside Barclay's you can use their free wi-fi. I would LOVE to buy this property but I doubt Rodger & Katie would sell!

“All in One”
Reviewed September 29, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

For the third time in Troed-y-Rhiw, , so cosy, so warm, so nice.
We fell in love with this Holiday Cottage 4 years ago and it's really something for you too. When you like bike riding, quat riding, horseback riding or just go for a walk, this is the place.
And can 't you walk? nice pubs, good butcher and the Spar with fish and chips is almost on your doorstep ( in Welsch speaking terms, hihihi).
The landlord Rodger will take care of every question you might have , and Katie , his wife signed for the deco of the cottage. " Next "couches, bedlinnen Laura Aishley.....
even your dog is welcome, when said to Rodger in advance, and keeping it downstairs.
It was a forthnight of peace, everyday we played cards in the sun in front of the cottage, had from 1-14 september the most amazing weather, and wil come again: so if you are looking for a holiday let: look no further!!!

“Warm, well equipped and great view”

The cottage was light, warm and cosy with everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was nice and solid. It was perfectly located for us walking in the area, but it is well situated to get to the Brecon Beacons or the coast..The lack of TV reception did not worry us, we used the ipod dock instead. The owners were friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything on arrival.

“stunning scenery”

Lovely clean, warm and well equipped cottage. We cycled around the local area over a week and also took our kayaks down part of river wye approx 30 min drive away. Ideally positioned for cycling around the local valleys and reservoirs, views fantastic...pictures don't do the scenery justice really. Great spot to "get away from it all" and owners very helpful and friendly without being intrusive.

“Perfect getaway - remote, cosy cottage”

Looking for a remote retreat from London life, Troed-y-Rhiw was perfect!

The quiet location offered walks nearby, a tiny town with shops to buy any essentials we'd forgotten and Roger & Katie were warm, welcoming and happy to offer suggestions and help when needed. The log burner made the downstairs space cosy and warm, and was perfect for quiet evenings spent in watching films...

Day trips included visits to Builth Wells, Brecon and a memorable adventure in the rain to find a waterfall!

“Well appointed cottage in beautiful rural mid-Wales”

The cottage is in a quiet spot a mile from Llanwrtyd Wells overlooking the river Irfon. It is newly restored to a very high standard of fittings, furnishing and equipment with wonderfully comfortable beds and well appointed bathroom and kitchen. A place to return to in all seasons - central heating and a wood burning stove were not needed much over the Spring bank holiday weekend but were very efficient. Garden area for barbecues or picnics. Owners Roger and Katie, who run Ardwyn Guest House in Llanwrtyd Wells made us very welcome. We hope to return for another holiday soon.
